Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.

Description

This is the full version of The Dawn of the Tiberium Age v4.18.6: all files necessary to play are included, so you also don't need to have the original game installed. To install the mod, simply extract all files to an empty folder and run DTA.exe to play.

From what I've heard, Codeweavers' Crossover runs DTA well. Wine can run DTA too, but it needs some additional configuration.

As a Windows user I don't know the specifics though.

Here's some info by a Linux user who got it to work (while it tells about CnCNet RA2/YR, DTA uses the same client so it should work for DTA as well):

"Changed: While idle, the Artillery, Rocket Launcher, V2 and SSM will now automatically fire at any unit within their full maximum firing range instead of only at up to about 80% of their firing range."

"Fixed: Idle (guarding) units will no longer chase after enemies that move out of firing range"

These changes are win, it irritated me for the longest time too.

The mentioned artillery units were actually mainly made to only automatically fire at units that were closer than their max firing range (by giving them a lower "guard range") so that the issue where they started chasing after enemy units all over the map a bit less common. Now that the mentioned issue has thankfully been fixed, the lower guard range is no longer necessary.

For whoever didn't know, you can double the distance within which units will automatically attack enemy units by pressing "G" on your keyboard to put them in Area-Guard mode. Be aware that when you do this however, your units will chase after enemy units all over the map again.

Nod's flamethrower infantry and flame tank will switch to chemical weapons when they're promoted to elite after killing units/structures. Is that what you meant?

You can't. You can only receive them from crates.

It won't be made possible to build these units because that would ruin the balance between the 4 factions.

No, because the units are overpowered. They're meant to be crate-only.

That link isn't working, but if it's different from how it looks in the game, then probably not.

What about it? This is already how the Temple of Nod looks in DTA and it also launches nuclear missiles like in Tiberian Dawn.

Guys I keep getting Trojans with this download. Does Artemis ring any bells?

You're not getting trojans, but your anti-virus software (McAfee, I assume) is having a false detection on DTA.

Artemis is just the name for a heuristic / cloud-based detection by McAfee.

Do you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed? Also try disabling your virus scanner and see if it still happens.
