Report RSS Game Update #4.5: GUI

I want to give a short journal on a new thing that I've thought of. It's basically dealing with the GUI. I had a lot of thought yesterday, and that was all with the GUI. With the last journal, I had a conversation about the 4.6 beta and that I'm waiting till it's stable to move my project there. Well, in thinking of the GUI, I thought that I should change my situation around a little bit.

Hey developers world!

As I have now, the item placement is to the right of the screen, and it always stay there. Like I've stated in some early blogs, I got this game idea from playing a game on my Android phone; In the game, the item placement is also located to the right of my screen. I thought it was cool to do so in my game, so I went with that approach too. I didn't sit down and think of all my levels before I started it(Next game, I will though) so I didn't think the GUI would be highly effected by it....I was wrong.

Level 3 is turning out to be a big level. And with that, the GUI elements will be annoying. So, I decided to change it up a little. Instead of seeing the items all the time, I am deciding to have a pause/play button. The pause button will bring up the item list and what you have and don't have. It will also pause the player movement. And of course the play button will resume everything.

I thought that this would be a better option for moving on, so it won't effect how you play. That, and you won't have to see a big blue square all the time, lol

Well, thank you for reading this short blog. I will keep you inform throughout my project and will post links to my web game so you guys can view it!
