Bushido: Legend of the Samurai is a Multiplayer Melee Combat game set during during the turbulent feudal period of medieval Japan.
The Tachi was a type of Japanese sword worn by the samurai class of feudal Japan. The tachi style of swords preceded the development of the katana.
An authentic tachi that was manufactured in the correct time period averaged 70–80 centimeters (27 9/16 - 31 1/2 inches)in cutting edge length (nagasa) and compared to a katana was generally lighter in weight in proportion to its length, had a greater taper from hilt to point, was more curved with a smaller point area.

cheers!
I was so eager for the tachi!
And it looks so awesome and incredibly cool!
I almost broke my screen trying to grab the hilt of the tachi!!!
Haha thanks!
Here Comes a Question
Will Scabbards be visible while playing ?
I hope 'cause I would like to see it while slashing those who stands in ninja-monks way!
They will be visible on the player, yeah. :)
You're getting me impatient, hahaha.
hehe :D
Outstanding job! How much polygons? :D
Thanks! It's about 1.8k for the sword and around 500 on the scabbard (same with all other weapons so far). Which is way below our budget.
Really!? Are you planning to create better models than this!? Oh god... <3
We'll be keeping all of our weapons at this current level of detail in order to optimize the game as much as possible. This basically means we can be a bit more flexible in other areas of the game visually while making sure it can run on most pcs. Rest assured tho' we haven't cut any corners to keep the polycount low, if we had to use 3k on a weapon etc. in order for it to look right, we will.
Cheers :D
any idea wen the no-dachi pics are comming
We'll have a steady flow of weapons over the next few weeks before bigger updates, so keep an eye out it's definitely being worked on by our team alongside spears, tantos and variants on our existing weapons.
was the tachi a 1 handed wepon?
Know what? Screw katanas. These images are sharp enough to cut a mountain in half.
Haha Thanks!
