Welcome and thank you for downloading the Battle Of Best custom map for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.
==Introduction==
The Battle Of Best is based on the actual battle for the town called Best, which lies North of Eindhoven. The town had a bridge to the south which could
prove useful during Market Garden.
The MG Challenge level is a submission of the Battle Of Best, which is quite straightforward; repell all enemy soldiers during the attack, and try to stay alive.
This challenge is fairly hard, and has been toned down for use in the eventual Battle of Best map. In order not to spoil anything I would suggest playing this level
only after completing the Battle Of Best first.

In order to be able to play this map, you will need to go through the following steps.
Please read these instructions carefully, since one skipped step might result in the level not loading or functioning properly.
Please keep in mind that this level can be quite heavy for older pc's.

1. Enable the console ingame.
In your Documents folder (or My Documents for WinXP), you will have a My Games folder. In that folder, you will have a BIA Hells Highway folder. Within that BIA Hells Highway folder, you will have a SumacGame folder (sumac was the codename of Hell's Highway during development).
Inside the SumacGame folder, you will have a Config folder. In that Config folder will be various .ini files with settings that can be changed by editing these files with a text editor (like Notepad).
Open the SumacInput.ini file in a text editor and search for the text "[Engine.Console]" (without the double quotes). You should see something like this...
[Engine.Console]
ConsoleKey=
TypeKey=
Change this so it looks like this:
[Engine.Console]
ConsoleKey=home
TypeKey=insert
save and exit the file.
I personally only use the 'Insert' key on my keyboard when using the console, since it closes the console as soon as I hit enter.

2. Create the needed folder to load the map in the game.
In the SumacGame folder described in the previous section, you will need to create a new folder called
Published
Within this 'Published' folder, you will need to create a folder called
CookedPC
Within this 'CookedPC' folder, you will need to create one last folder called
CustomMaps
Eventually you will get a folder structure resembling this:
(My) Documents\My Games\BIA Hells Highway\SumacGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps

if you freshly installed the game you will need to go ingame first and make a profile in order to find the folders in the "my documents" folder to complete this step.
In the CustomMaps folder you need to unzip the .gbxmap files (all of them). The file contains 5 gbxmap files:
00_Best.gbxmap
01_Best.gbxmap
02_Best.gbxmap
MGchallenge.gbxmap
MGchallenge_01.gbxmap
In order to play both the Battle Of Best level and the MG challeng level, you will need to have all five files in the CustomMaps folder you created.

3. Load the map ingame
Once the menu is loaded you can hit the insert key to open up the console, which will pop up at the bottom of your screen in bright green.
In order to play the Battle Of Best level, type
open 00_Best.gbxmap
and hit enter. Please keep in mind that capitals are important when typing.
In order to play the MG challenge level, type
open MGchallenge.gbxmap
and hit enter.

4. Pointers to complete the submissions
If you have problems to continue the level, you can read the following tips.
These might contain slight spoilers.

Always make sure you killed all the enemy soldiers. Sometimes they tend to run off and hide on the map, do a quick sweep of the area.
Look at your compass. It always shows you where the action is.
Sometimes you'll need to find documents to gather intel. Look for a blue bundle with papers, or a map on the ground.

This Map can be distributed freely as long as this readme and all five gbxmap files are kept in the package.
