You'll battle cultists, gargoyles, zombies, hellhounds, and an unholy host of other terrors in your quest to stop Tchernobog. You must not only defeat the Cabal--you must scour its dread name from human memory. If that means eradicating everyone and everything the Cabal has ever tainted, so be it. Of course, you'll first have to make your way through fortresses, castles, mines, mansions, and estates guarded and kept by Tchernobog's malevolent servants. Fortunately, it is wits that make the hero, and although you're in serious danger of losing yours, you've got enough left to improvise some pretty effective tools of destruction. Aerosol hairspray can be frightening enough on its own, but apply it to a lighter flame and you've got an instant flamethrower (kids, don't try this at home!). Likewise, a flare gun can brighten your prospects considerably against even the grimmest odds, which is to say nothing for shotguns, Tommy guns, and dynamite. Who knows,...
Update which restores Zandronum 3.0 compatibility, adds support for software mode and a brand new gore system, amongst other things.
SUPER-UPDATE. Five months after the previous update, we bring you a new version of Blood: Dead on Arrival that gives the mod a new lease of life. Wondering what's changed this time around? Read on:
-New gore system: The previous gore system got stale fast and now in its place there's a new one based on Bolognese Gore Mod. Of course, we've tweaked it enough so that it properly fits the mod and let me tell you one thing - getting your hands bloody has never been as satisfying!
-General improvements and bugfixes: The colored lights in the Club Cabal secret level flash too quickly and are annoying? They are a bit slower now. Tchernobog won't move and will just sit there unless you shoot or move towards him? He's smarter now and will be constantly looking around for you. There is something wrong with the sawed-off animation? That was a weird, unintentional overlay effect that's been fixed now. The Hell Knights look too small? They are big and scary now. Read the changelog for more.
-Improved mod portability: GZDoom runs slow on your computer in hardware mode? Don't panic. You will now be able to play the mod decently on software mode by turning on the "SOFTWARE COMPABILITY" setting in the new "DEAD ON ARRIVAL FEATURES" menu that's been added to the Options menu. This option will disable the dense fog effects that require hardware mode on the maps. Also, want to play the mod with Zandronum 3.0? You can now do that without having to download a separate version for it. Just follow the instructions that are in the downloadable .zip and you'll be alright.
We've also added a couple of new items, a new music track for the Assault at the Fortress bonus level (which feels more epic than before) and some new bullet impact effects. So what are you waiting for? Take this new release for a spin. Tell a friend also.
