TODAY'S PROGRESS REPORT!
Aaron
With the lighting now in a much less erroneous state and the previewer getting us excited for some actual gameplay elements, we're planning to work on some fun things this week!
0.55.1 should be out tomorrow or so, however we'd like to take a quick poll from BR's supporters: given the choice between the following three, which do you think would benefit Blockade Runner the most at this time?
1. Improved Flight - smoother and easier handling
- fullscale engines with singular exaust point
- vectored thrust (engines can have their exaust angled)
- configure which thrusters/engines fire while turning/moving
- basic power requirements for thrusters/engines
2. Improved Weapons
- more variety in types/sizes of destruction (radial, laser, etc)
- improved projectile/damage effects
- revamped armor / penetration
- configure where weapons fire
- basic power/ammunition requirements for weapons
3. Human Movement
- walk, jump, and run on your ship's gravity plating
- proper collision physics with bulkheads / geometry
leads to - construct your ship by hand with equipment
leads to - inventory system
leads to - initial oxygen system
We've already got an idea on what we're doing next, but we'd like for paid supporters to go ahead and chime in.
This also gives Gabe and I the opportunity to finally dust off our formula for gauging fan priority lists (we've just been ball-parking the 7-something page "W28" priority list until now and focused on the game)
If you'd like to vote, go ahead and post in this thread your activated Blockade Runner username, followed by your comma-seperated order of importance:
Example: Aaron, 2 , 3, 1
(later priority polls would include more items, but these three allows us to test the app)

Nathan
Prefab and (almost all of) the angles have had their tangents corrected with Nathan's new system! The result is ships with angles, and prefabs will look much better under the light!
Micah
More experiments with the prefabs, a couple of which being gigantic power generators and monitor displays!
Gabe
Gabe suspend the simpler interior editor few days ago, the new method allows you to simply click "add interior" and just point and click for a ceiling, wall, or floor. The method BR uses at the moment might be preserved as an "advanced mode" at some point though!
Terah
Experimenting with having prefabs share textures and whether it looks okay.
