A big change to the game, leading to much more gameplay and a bigger challenge to survive. A small change leading toward a big change in gameplay and a start towards enabling a GOD AI to challenge you even more!

So whats new in this update? A lot!

wildlings

The above screenshot shows the new Wildlings and their hut. Once your village grows cultural influence grows with it. The Wildlings might join you or wage war upon you. In the future updates, the Wildlings influence will grow even more as they will construct their own villages and combat with other Wildlings in the world.

wildlife

Wildlife in it's current form, this screen shows a bunny and a wolf. The bunnies function as food for the wolves. When they get hungry enough they will attack your villagers in an attempt to stay alive. The warrior kills wolves and gathers food in the process.

hive

This screen shows a Hive, Hives spawn critters over time to attack your village. In future updates, these critters will be a threat to Wildlings too.

Kieran Weir GAMING shows how to fail at Blameless in 10 minutes

A full changelog:

- Wildlings > These neutral villagers can be won over by culture spread by temples. Or just kill them to free some space for your buildings.
- Shrine space enlargement > The shrine now clears 4 extra tiles around it, these tiles are designated holy, and are not capable of containing buildings/resources.
- Visual overhaul > The overall visuals have been modified for both performance and looks.
- Warriors now attack Hives.
- Wildlife is back! Wolves, bunnies and birds populate the world again. Wolves are dangerous when they get really hungry, bunnies and birds are just filler content at the moment.
- Warriors kill dangerous wildlife and gather food in the process
- The interaction tool has been updated, grab also requires 50 belief to use now.
- DOOOOOOM! Use the Doom interaction on Wildling huts to designate them as enemies. The doom name is only there because I still lack a better description for it ( suggestions!? )

All of the above is just baby steps towards Blameless as a finished product. The current behaviours are enablers for implementing bigger and badder ( no typo ) combat! Please stay tuned for more updates!

With kind regards,

FB - Blameless Dev

Looks cool, i'll make sure to follow your progress :)

I love the idea of just "inspiring" villagers and not having a total control on what is created or done. I think this is where your game can be different from any other god game so keep it ! :D

Some suggestions if i may :

- Add a text in the intro to tell us something like "In order to start, click on a tile to create your village center". I was quite confused the first time i started the game.

- A mute button. As much as i love the music you picked, i was pretty sick of it after an hour of gameplay.

- A list of the features actually available in the game. Right now, i don't know what i can do and what i can test. How far can i go, what can i unlock, etc.

- Some infos on the buildings when clicking on them. My little fellows have built cute village with 7/8 crops and more than 10 houses but there are buildings that i don't understand the function (clear one looking like a temple, big one looking like a forge, small one with black roof).

- Ability to create green tiles. As far as i know, i can only create sand, and builders don't build on sand. So i can't expand my village the way i want and my builders end up going really far away and taking forever to build something.

- Create a radius around the village center wherein builders can build. So they are prevented from building far away as they sometime do. Expand the radius according to village population. The radius could be visible when clicking on the village center.

- A "warehouse" building that can only be built at some distance of the village center/another warehouse. Villagers would be able to deposit or gather resources from warehouses instead of having to go to the village center, thus reducing the time it takes them to do their things.

I hope you're enjoying creating this game and wish you success !

Hey Scade!

Thanks for this extensive review and I'm glad you like the concept :)
The version you played was still prototype, the attention and praise it receives made me further develop the game and now it's in a early alpha stage with some great overhauls.

Currently I'm testing with mesh worlds instead of tiles to see if it adds to the game or kills the vibe.

Some answers on the suggestions: ( yes you may! )

- There's a tiny bit of text in the upper right corner that says you should pick an empty land tile, I wasn't aware this would be overlooked, thanks!l improve on the feedback some more.

- Mute the music with the M key! At the moment this only works after the Shrine is placed.

- I'm in dubio about stating all the functionality, this would lead to either more mastery of the game or it would kill the element of surprise. Only way to find out is just try! There will be a tutorial in later which might solve this problem.

- There is a info tool in the game already. You can select this by pressing the 4 key, or by clicking the tiny info button in the upper right part of the screen. ( a proper UI is in the works ) I do have to give it to you that you identified the buildings quite well! Indeed a temple and a forge, the black roof one is a pub.

- Green tiles can be created by using the land power on sand tiles. Looks like a good add for the feature list ;)

- The "building radius" is actually becoming a big part of the game. The temple already uses it but not in a visual manner. This is planned functionality because it needs to be in before a combating AI or multiplayer opponents are possible! The way I plan to set it up is similar to the influence ring seen in Black and White.

- If we can agree on the warehouse being called a stockpile we could shake hands! This is added and working, but not combat tested yet!

Thanks again for this extensive commentary! People liking the game are one step! Proper feedback enables me to also improve the game for a wider audience!

Stay tuned for a massive update sometime next month :)
