Cooperative/Multiplayer shooter inspired by games like Halo2 and PerfectDark64. BrokenEarth ignores the limits of the Top Down genre by adding vertical combat, customization, lots of equipments and fps-oriented controls, making shooter players feel right at home.

Hey again guys, thanks for stopping by.
This time I wanted to talk about our current milestone, the public alpha. All work being done now is to get Roots ready for public testing and a version that we'd be confident enough to put on steam.

We hope to release Roots by the end of the year but that's only if we think its ready and we hope you'll stick around and try out or beta when its released. We're also looking into Desura as a platform.

What makes Roots so different? Why should it be on steam? Why should you want to play it?
Simple, because we are shooter players, the FPS genre is our favourite but we believe its being stagnated now with the same gimmicks and content. Roots doesn't try to be cinematic, we set up a world the player actions result in epic moments.
Why didn't we make an FPS then? Well, the budget, we simply don't have the budget to make the FPS game that we'd love to play, an FPS requires higher fidelity and more attention to small details. We said, what if we could take the controls and fast gameplay of an fps and apply to it to a more casual genre like the topdown shooter. And Roots was created. Roots is a topdown shooter that has the same foundations has an FPS, that means, tossing grenades with the press of a button, quick melee, sprinting and an idea that I wanted to do ages ago, full three dimensional combat in a topdown shooter.
What does full 3dimensional combat mean? It means, your crosshair is a 3d object in the level, wherever you put it, that's where the shots will go. What that means is we can then allow players to battle on multiple levels. This opens up level design, so levels don't have to be flat.
