Battle Runes is an original 2D facebook game playable in multiplayer up to 8 players. Players can use magic runes to cast spells, gain experience and unlock new spells. The goal is to stay until the end and eliminate all non-player creatures of the game. The game quotes the famous rock-paper-scissors, where every action has a counter. Players have 16 runes, which have the power to attack, defend or reflect damage to the opponent. The runes do not appear all at once but are unlocked as during a single game after which all levels are cleared. To speed things up there is half the time, because time goes by more and less spells are effective. You can also play against the AI . 30 different creatures from level to level, engage the player in increasingly challenging duels. Battle Runes is written in Javascript. It’s based on a node.js server and uses jQuery on the client, the communication is done through HTML5 WebSockets.
