This is an expansion pack for Battle for Middle Earth II. It adds new armies such as Arnor & Angmar and has many new expanded heroes and units. The game focuses on the Return of the Witch King to power after the fall of Sauron in the second age. In his new arrival Arnor is losing its blood and is scrabbling over Rhuadar, Arthedain and Cardolan.

Description

After loading this map once, you will have limitless zoom for all maps you start afterwards. The map hereby only deals as an agent/injector to trigger the engine bug exploit. So technically speaking it is a map but actually it's more a mod without actual mod.

Just to note that to players that this is not allowed in any C&C and BFME multiplayer as such exploit cheats like this will get you banned from playing online.

Yes please avoid using it in multiplayer (except compstomp, aod or td games in mp). It can easily be seen in the replay if someone uses it.

Note January 2022: The functionality of this zoom limit remover and much more including campaign support and 60 FPS is now also part of this next generation helper tool: SageMetaTool
(Info: Github.com) which is available here:
Patreon.com exclusively and also works with any mods.

Thank you for this "mod". When I put the settings for the 1080p, the camera was too close. With this, everthing goes well.

Can someone explain why I don't have a "maps" folder? I'm using origin on windows 10. Also, I tried to go to my registry and create UseLocalUserMaps on dword 32 bit but it did nothing. I then tried to create a maps folder right there in file explorer, nothing. Then, I tried both making UseLocalUserMaps in the registry and creating a maps folder in file explorer, and nothing. Can someone please help me!

This mod/script is a game-changer and I love it.. Just wondering would you be able to remove superweapons with a similar tactic?

Thank you, I appreciate your comment !
Removing superweapons with this tactic is very unlikely. For that you need an actual mod. Here is one I made for C&C TW/KW:
Moddb.com
Source code is available and could be adapted to fit BFME I + II, Red Alert 3 or C&C4; too.

how do you install it on steam

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Normal installation is as follows:
Put the map folder "!RemoveZoomLimits" for the respective game into this folder (for your case):
C:\Users\>Username<\AppData\Roaming\>GameName<\Maps
Then load the map before your play your actual game.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the mod but I have a question. When you say load the game before playing your actual game, do you mean start a game on the map, then quit and start a new game on the same map?

Yes, load this map ("!RemoveZoomLimits") ingame like any other map. It automatically exits the map immediately and you will no more have a zoom limit ;)

is there a way to remove the fog? BFME2

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Not yet. The fog is a map specific thing. Some maps don't have fog at all.

New version 1.3 - fog can optionally be removed.

So where does one put the "Optional-NoFogAddition-And-ModVersion\!!_BFME2-ROTWK-NoFog-With-ZoomLimitExploit.big"?

Edit: nevermind..didn't see the expand on the text above and the readme in the file had the line "Optional no fog & mod version (only BFME2 & ROTWK): Copy one of the .big files into your game folder." omitted from it or not added since update, thanks for an awesome "map" :D!

Could you help us remove zoom fog on C&C3; as well?

Everything works, but when I zoom out there is a fog that hides everything. I tried it on multiple maps. Morder fades out red, Minas Tirith fades white and so on...anyone else have that problem? Is there a different mod to get rid of that?

I think you have to adjust your shaders to the lowest quality in the visual options setting.

This was working fine until I had to reinstall due to a crash bug with the evil campaign, now its just super zoomed in! Any ideas how I can fix it? I've tried deleting the !RemoveZoomLimits folder and redownloading it but its not worked?

Is this supposed to work in the campaign as well? Can only seem to get it to work for skirmish.

Only skirmish currently. Campaign would need another approach and the use of one additional side button. If more then 20 people pm me with this request I can think about making it.

Thanks for this, it works great but the fog removal only seems to work on some map but doesn't work on maps like Celduin River sadly. Is this going to be fixed in the future as the zoom out doesn't really help if the fog makes it impossible to see.
I hope you get back to me and thanks in advance for you time :)

Dear Mijstral, your tool is fantastic. Many thanks.

I installed version 1.3 of you tool. I confirm that the fog indeed persists on many skirmish maps in C&C3;. I am using version 1.09 of the game without any mods, downloaded directly from steam.

Here's a screenshot of the situation: Imgur.com

Would you be able to fix this ?

Hi, do you plan to fix the fog on other maps as well? (Rhun, Shire..) Thank you, Michal

Yes but with a tool, called SAGE Meta Tool that will replace this pack. It completely removes fog on all maps + many more tweaks. No mod needed and no map needed then. ETA TBA

Doesn't seem to be working for me...It shows up in my maps options in game and I load it, and it automatically restarts the game, but when I go to play a real skirmish the zoom has not changed. I am playing with the tiberium essence mod

I followed the instructions to place the file in the maps dir for C&C3;. I have the game on one drive and the game folder is on the OS C: drive. The game is on Steam though and it does not recognize the folder at all. I see no option to load it to the custom maps in game.
