Hi All,
This is Peter, the developer of Awesome Soccer World and owner of Red27 Studios.
To address Eddward's comments (and hopefully allay any fears anyone might have), the license is not single user.
Please contact me if you have any issues with your version of the game and I will happily address.
Happy Holidays.
I'm not able to get the game to start. I played it yesterday. I'm running on Linux (Ubuntu 10.04). I believe I update some java things. I'm guessing the problem is with the java install.
The error message I am seeing is
Failed to load SoundFX/swoosh.wav - line with format PCM_SIGNED 44100.0 Hz, 16 bit, stereo, 4 bytes/frame, little-endian not supported.
I'll post a work around if I find one.
I've tried a few things, but no work around yet. Oldly enough, I played a (silent) quick game and when I returned to the menu it play the menu music. I tried recreating this and it didn't happen a second time.
I also found it played smoother without sound. However one of the times, it actually seems to play too fast. The kick bar would go solid in under a second.
Well, after a reboot sound seems to be working again. I guess I won't know the cause, but I doubt it is the game.
The demo isn't working for me, how can I troubleshoot it?
Do you get any kind of error message? Does it not start at all? It's a java program so you will need java installed. Are you on Windows Mac or Linux?
Eddward - this is Peter from Red27 Studios (the owner). Sorry for your inconvenience - I have spoken with Desura and agreed to ensure that all Desura owners will have no problems with Registrations in future. Kind Regards, Peter.
While I have your attention (assuming I have you attention after 3 months) do you know what the "Connect" feature link off the page does? I get that it sends info, but I'm curious what creating an account does? Thanks
Peter, I appreciate that you've looked into this. I would have replied sooner but I didn't notice your comment until tonight. The problem came up the night before I was going to go on a business trip. I uninstalled the game before leaving and after reading the email responses from Desura and Red27 Studios while at the airport I put it behind me in disgust and didn't look back.
All the same, if you changed things then that deserves a better response than I've given. I'm going to look into amending my public comments on this yet tonight. (Off to track them down.) Thanks.
Well, I think the only place I posted this was in the Desura User Discussion forum. Unfortunately, that is locked. I see that Protector had mentioned on 3/12 that you had addressed this.
