Asteria is a fast paced and fun platformer/sandbox. It takes elements from Terraria and Minecraft, and in a fun way improves on them. Right out of the gate you will notice a few things that will make your experience enjoyable. Like for instance the ranged mining. The mining is so awesome that after playing Asteria it is painful to go back and play other 2d sandbox games.

There are a few quirks to the game, like some of the platforming feels a bit off. There is a slight disconnect when you go from the overworld to any of the levels. I feel that this has gotten better with the new control scheme by adding xbox controller support. These minor quirks are easily overlooked when you play with your friends and you are just out to have a good time.

Overall I feel that you would enjoy Asteria. And I think it is well worth the money spent on it.

This game is a lot of fun to play, especially if you like crafting/building games like Minecraft and Terraria. This game feels similar to Terraria, with some elements of Metroid. I particularly liked that this game fixed many of the things that bugged me the most about Terraria.

For instance, Asteria has much, much faster mining than Terraria. Better yet - mining is ranged! This makes for a much faster paced, more enjoyable experience.

I recommend giving this game a try, especially since there's a free demo available on the game's website.
