Archangel Initiative is a first-person based horror game in the same vein as F.E.A.R. You will fill the role of a special operative working with the C.I.A. What seems to be a mission to apprehend a leader of a rogue mercenary group turns out to be a hunt for three bases that contain a pathogen capable of infecting mass populations and turning them into flesh-devouring monsters. The fate of all mankind hangs in the balance...
Due to a deadly virus that destoryed my computer, all Data on Archangel Initiative has been lost. Therefore, I am going to be using this time to re-make all that I lost. I am sorry for this, but I will do what I can to make this better than before and maybe create a "decent" FPS creator game. :)
I am open to any suggestions that anyone may have to help me make this better :)
Next phase of progression for "Archangel Initiative". Currently, I am trying to adjust lighting for a more appropriate "horror" theme.
Soonds like a cool game, ill keep my eye on this one. And a golden tip: Always make backups! ^^
how do i make a fps for free?
is this project dead?:-S
The project is not dead, but it has been halted. My computer was hit by a virus and I lost all data to this game, meaning I'm going to have to start over with everything. Naturally, I feel kind of burned out about it, but I'm going to try my best to deliver what I had before, if not better.
how are you going with the lighting
this game looks good for FPSC, realy reminds me of F.E.A.R. 1,
good job mate!
great website
i used a few things from there....most downloaded were the scripts and entities...they are great:)
All of those shots are okay for FPSC. I recommend you get an account at The Game Creator's Forums and put this up in the WIP boards for FPSC. They'll give you a bunch of tips on how to optimize your game. Make it darker and use lights only where needed. Try to get some more modern-based media so your not using as much sci-fi stuff. FPSfree.com has some great stuff. This looks okay, keep it up.
Thanks for the advice, mate :) I'll look into that right now.
I have an advice for you,for your game to be more...horror...you can set light only in some places and in some places make darkness. To do that, instead of setting the game only on Quick Light Mapping you can also set the effects on Full Shader Effects(it wont be so dark as it is on Full Light Mapping but it is faster to load...at least...for me)
