Aquaphobia: Mutant Brain Sponge Madness is a colorful, fast-paced, 2D side-scrolling action platformer game about Gibby, a Caribbean brain sponge (a real species: Geodia gibberosa), which has been subjected to bizarre experiments by the deranged Dr. Jack Harbor. Although he isn’t aware of it, Gibby lives in a science lab aquarium. As a result of the mad doctor’s ministrations, Gibby has awakened from his slumber and discovered he can now move about his environment in quite extraordinary ways. Many exciting discoveries await him—who he is, what he is doing here, and where he is going. You know, the big questions that every mutant brain sponge must answer. Team Aquaphobis is still comprised of students, faculty, and alumni from UAT. The present crew still works in the commons at UAT. There are now remote members to the team making the project even better and challenging the team to work collaboratively in a distributed development environment.
