Take care of a colony of space ants, while expanding your station and dealing with threats. The gameplay is in the direction of Dwarf Fortress in the setting of Space Station 13. The game features 2D graphics but 3D gameplay. There's detailed engineering for electricity, atmospherics, liquids and plasma. You'll need to serve the needs of your ants, which have ant-like biology, while protecting them from dangers, keep your production chain running and perform scientific research, all while constructing your space station.

The installing path is semi-random and very hidden. Your best bet is to
1) Search the c: drive for settings.txt
2) Search the c: drive for game_1 and find the path the game installed to
There you can edit a bunch of settings.

Also, thanks a lot for making the videos! I made a blogpost and a news post on here for it.

Thanks for changing settings video! I'll add it when doing another demo, if I still use this installer. :)

that's good - so when next demo?

Maybe coming weekend. Though I'm not sure yet I want to make it a regular thing. It does distract from making progress.

Sep 30 2013 Anchor

antstation - in some alphas - they give regular updates and fixes and new things - but not often like 2 weeks on and off

Oct 1 2013 Anchor

I don't understand what you mean with the last part. What do I do 2 weeks on and off?

And keep in mind it's an early alpha. It still needs a lot of work. The reason I was reluctant to put a demo out to begin with is that I was afraid it would distract from progress. And while it provides valuable feedback, the maintenance and polishing does distract from other things.

So I'm still considering what the best course of action. :)

i was mean - example you develop the demo then give feed back then when people give the feedback then do more work on it then when its ready - i think you understand

example i work on rail tycoon - i put out demo and get feedback so i start adding features (2 weeks to do it) then demo/update to get feedback then once feedback has done - more work - its what i mean - two weeks on (adding features and fixing bugs) two weeks off (getting feedback) its varies on which stage

Ah, yes. Now it's clear. You mean a two-week cycle.
I might do that. I don't promise anything, but I like such a cycle.
It gives me time to progress combined with regular updates.

yes its worth trying because i know alot about it

now my real feedback

the Z0 needs have basement - Z-1 to Z-5 to make air stable at Z0

light sensor/switch - if room is not used - turns off the lights saving power

lifts - needs new graphics

Airlock system - put two doors and link with control panels (cable) with vent to put air in

pickup and drop off cargo - where the pickup and delivery pads? (this was seen in recent screenshots)

I don't understand what you mean about the basement at Z0.

The problem with the lights is that the the calculations, as the system works now, would be rather extensive.
This means it need to keep track whether an ant enter/exits its light spread area, and if so, recalculate both lighting and power requirements of the affected area.

How would you imagine the lift tubes? (Keep in mind I won't use the traditional box-lift yet).

Airlock system: I like the idea and will see whether I can implement it.

Cargo: now works with rooms! :) So pickup and delivery rooms.

ah cargo rooms - i didn't know you changed so that's what you failed to explain change

Example of basements to contain the air leaks

example one
Z1 wallwallwallwallwall
Z0 wallfloorfloorfloorwall <- on ground
Z-1wallfloorfloorfloorwall
Z-2wall wall wall wall wall

Example two

Z2 wallwallwallwallwall
Z1 wallfloorfloorfloorwall <- on ground
Z0 wallfloorfloorfloorwall
Z-1 wall wall wall wall wall

lighting - if you make simllar to power generator - and place on Out cable - i show you how works - see Twitch.tv

Ah, I see what you mean, concerning the basement.
But, assuming that Z-1 and Z-2 are static, players cannot do anything there? I don't like that idea.
If you mean let Z go to minus as well, what is the difference with just starting from 0?

Concerning what you did with the lighting: to make that automated would be really taxing on the game because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.

How do you capture the videos btw? :)

for Z0 - if ants want on that level without air leak to below - its Z-1 level could be sealed with wall

ah i understand

i use Open broadcast software
