Ancient Wars: Sparta is a RTS which takes place during 500-450 BC period, which recreates the battles of Spartans, Persians and Egyptians for Little Asia, Europe and North Africa. The single player campaign is divided between the 3 aforementioned races totalling 27 missions.

Simply because the game has such a nice gameplay, and it's easy to mod it :)
The game has a few bugs... but they're easy to fix. I've been moding on this game for about a year, and the game has so many things that can be added, plus it's been my favorite game since I was a child.
Poor resource system and a very long build time for units ruin this game. The combat and other game mechanics like transports and unit training are very well made. Units on transports can fire at enemies if they have ranged weapons. Unit training is also interesting, you select one of three units and customize them to your situation. You can equip weapons and shields and ranged weapons. The resource system is very bad however. Gold is used to train and build structures and units. Only a limited amount of workers can use a gold mine which limits your income. Food is required to supply your troops but you cannot trade food for gold. Gold mines also have a limited supply so eventually you will run out of resources to build troops.
