Its really high contrast between game world and black menu it kinda draws eyes away from it
yeah I totally agree! otherwise nice
I had the same feeling.
However, this is just scheme, not the rendered GUI of the THESEUS.
Beyond that, there is a pro-check for good/bad UI: you need to saturated colors to B&W - if the UI is clearly distinguishable then the UI is good. So if we add some transparency to the panels - they loose that clearance.
