Aetherius is a voxel based game experiment being written in Java with LWJGL. It provides a procedural universe that runs infinitely in every direction across infinite worlds, with thousands of materials. All the non-procedural content is made with a suite of software that ships as part of the game. Aside from the pre-baked content and the modder, the game also procedurally generates content from mixing and matching an abundance of components that the player has the ability to add to or remove from. This content includes NPCs, Quests, Machinery and Materials. Aetherius is a true sandbox. The player can toggle every single aspect of vanilla gameplay, and construct their own game rules to suit themselves. It is fast approaching a viable alpha test phase.
The modeler is much more indicative of its final functionality, now that it has the preview panel functioning. Only tool switching buttons to go!
Nice modeler can't wait till try it :D
How big models can be maked with the modeler and there will be possible to scale model after build it ??
Yeah, there will be a scale slider in the properties panel, and eventually that will be moved to its own screen and have an npc shown next to it for size comparison. The scale slider wont give you extremely detailed control though; to keep the world consistent, the sizing will be set to powers of two. So 1 world block, will be 16 in width, which is 2^4. The smallest your model's voxels will be able to be is 1/16th of a world block
I haven't decided on any hard limit for the size, but i may cap it after the initial release depending on performance or practicality issues that may pop up. At the moment; its any size. :D
Still great that it can be smaller then world block :D
