Sony has released a new trailer for the PlayStation 4 / PlayStation VR-compatible robo-sports game, 100ft Robot Golf. The trailer highlights some new environments – such as the Marianas trench and the Moon – along with various robot abilities like missile swarms and a hoverboard.
Those abilities can be used to destroy obstacles in the surrounding environment, like trees and skyscrapers, to give you a clear line of sight to the next hole. It’s not your traditional golfing game, then, as you can also use those abilities against other players.
As developer No Goblin describes:
“Up to four players can hit the greens, cities, mountains, and orbiting moons that comprise the Robot Golf Tour Circuit. Either split-screen or online, robot golf pilots can play frantic real-time destruction golf, classic turn based action, or even custom rulesets crafted for your own custom 100ft Robot Golf round.”
100ft Robot Golf will include PlayStation VR support for what looks like a first-person perspective that can be glimpsed in the above trailer. The game will be available this year, likely sometime after the PlayStation VR launches in October.
