0 A.D. is a free, open-source, cross-platform real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare. It's a historically-based war/economy game that allows players to relive or rewrite the history of twelve ancient civilizations, from Iberia to Mauryan India, each depicted at their peak of economic growth and military prowess. Developed using Pyrogenesis, a ground-breaking new game engine custom-built to suit this project, 0 A.D. will give players a rich and entertaining real-time gaming experience.

Happy new year 2011, everybody! If you've been wondering what's new with 0 A.D., here are some quick updates for our fans on ModDB & IndieDB:

  • First up, modding team Scion Development has announced that it is debuting a mod for 0 A.D. based on China under the Han dynasty, called Rise of the East. We wish them all the best and hope this mod is just the first of many! A demo release of their mod is available here: Infantry Release Pack.

Well I was hoping for a Medieval europe or crusade setting :( But still, good job guys and good luck.
