-NOTE- I discovered one interesting console, its Zeebo and its first console of Zeebo incorporated...The creation of this console was for about one or two years after final version and many companies like ID software,Namco,EA and many other companies wanted to publish games so Zeebo will have many games in next years if the interest comes and if there will be a world wide console! Zeebo is an special console, it uses BREW for the "OS" and it plays only JAVA games... If Zeebo makes a contract with AT&T then if you got a Zeebo and you are using 3,2.5 and 2G network you will not have costs of downloading contest but you will still pay some games and the list of new games to buy and download will be bigger...The console costed about 250$ at beggining becuase it was new and they dint know who will buy this console but after some time the price has gone been lower and its now 100-150$ and PS2 was more expensive then Zeebo at beggining and it was the same price as Wii at that time... Due tehnical limitations there arent much new games, mostly ports and versions for this console but there are some good old clasics and some cool games! MUST PLAY: Quake 1,Quake 2,RE4,FIFA 09Tekken 2 and Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D Watch this video: Even its the first Zeebo Incorporated console and lacks of some features and other things but its they first console and atleast they dint make most of mistakes that has made by SEGA !But even if it got some great games there are some bad games but due limitations and most of people do not know whats Zeebo and due slow expanding to other countries it may fail and by stronger consoles it will slowly die or in Asia it will be crushed by bad copies of Zeebo that will suck and chinese stuff will rule the world and one super low quality nuke will explode because some dude touched the top of the head and huge big Kaabbooooooommmmmmm... Well i hope that they will make a stronger version and that upgrades will be minor and that we will pay small price for upgrading the console Zeebo system
Operating conditions:
I hope that there will be many ports of old games from PC and maybe Half Life 1, its actualy posible because an very old game and with javas posibilities without losing much quality and good file size compression it will rock in one way. Hitman Codename 47 is posible if they remove ragdoll if that reduces performance Half Life system requirments:
Recommended
Hitman Codename 47 system requirments: Minimum Requirements
PII 300 64MB RAM 400MB hard drive space 8x CD-ROM 3D accelerator with 12MB VRAM Recommended Requirements Pentium III or Athlon 128 MB hard-disk space 32 MB DirectX-compliant video card. Thx if you read my second blog on my profile, comment it if you want !! -Aditional Note- !-IMPORTANT-! My Opinion: -- Dont be an "XBOX360" or "PS3" freak...Graphic are nothing towards the gameplay... |

I absolutely love the idea of a J2ME console- it'd mean that it would become an open console and be very supportive of homebrew and indie games. I think though only focusing on emerging markets is a very bad move. Bring the console into the mainstream, this is how sega turned from a small time console developer into a full fledge console giant in the 1990s- they fucked up with the Dreamcast because it wasn't designed for the West, rather designed purely for a Japanese auidence that wanted the Arcade gaming- a flaw in their marketing and RnD because Nintendo and sony had already capitalized on the concept of the "console" genre- the scope needs to be greater than just one region or market else they won't make anywhere near the sort of money that they could. Zeebo will shock gaming world if there are some good titles! I think if there are in here some persons that can make games for java consoles(mobile/cell phone and Zeebo ofcourse)... But also the contract with AT&T will probavly open markets on all continets and almost in all countries! -- Dont be an "XBOX360" or "PS3" freak...Graphic are nothing towards the gameplay... |

Well they shouldn't ignore the first world. It'd be an extremely huge marketing flaw if they did. Everyone knows that the modern day successes of console manufacturing have been only because they were Multi-National, and its this very reason Sega got pushed out of the market. In countries like Australia, US and UK I could see it working as a casual gaming platform- and a great competitor against the Wii. |

Not true, this is just what Elitist Hardcore Console Gamers think. The Wii proves otherwise. The casual audience would easily eat a consumer product like the Zeebo up, why? because its cheap entertainment that isn't threatening. It's a very different industry now, you could get away with low quality graphics, no one would care.. they certainly didn't mind when the wii was released only to have worse graphics than both the PS3 and Xbox360.. but the Wii is infact winning out over them because the casual market is a bigger market. Now I'm not saying Casual Gaming is a great thing. I dispise casual gaming.. but its a fad that has grown in popularity enough to be an exploitive market. Yes I do see casual gamers as nothing more than walking wallets.. if they had a problem with that then they should care about the games they play. We've seen J2ME games and even Iphone games that look as if they were from the early 1990s be world successful titiles earning millions of dollars a month. Zeebo could easily be a faciliator of these games, that never get released on the hardcore platforms because of licensing and programming complications. The Zeebo cause it uses J2ME would be as simple as porting the game for a different configuration using the same language they already understand. Mobile developers would begin working on the console- the mobile market is pretty huge (I know because I work in it) and there's plenty of money there.. offering them a console that they already know how to use would be a gold mine to say the least. You could quite easily treat this as just another Mobile Platform yes.. but because its an actual console it can go above and beyond just another mobile platform. I just want to say though, I dislike casual gaming. This is just coming from a business perspective. I'm NOT a fan of casual game design. Edited by: formerlyknownasMrCP |

wow, nice reply... But the problems are somekind of limitations and Zeebo is actualy for poor people, mostly gor Africa... The best games for now that i think are Quake 2,Resident Evil 4,NSF - Carbon:Own The City,Rally Master Pro(3D),Galaxy On Fire and Fifa 09 !! Cyberpunk, how much compression is posible with java, lets say for exsample 500mb...So how much the size of 500mb can be reduced with java? -- Dont be an "XBOX360" or "PS3" freak...Graphic are nothing towards the gameplay... |
