Writing Graduate Ready For First Game Thread

Good afternoon,
I'm a writer who is very much interested in getting into game development. I have a creative writing degree and experience in proofreading, editing, prose writing, script writing and teaching. I was the chairman for the creative writing society and literary magazine at my university. I am willing to fit into many different writing roles from an simple dialogue editor to full narrative lead. Your project can be the first game I work on, but know that I have the creative skills to back it up.

First off, one thing you really should include in your ad is whether you are looking for paid work only, or are willing to work for experience and possibly royalties.

Well since it would be the first project I would be involved with, I think it would be reasonable to work for experience and royalties, though considering my qualifications and previous accomplishments, I would certainly be able to work at a professional paid level.

You should really (if you haven't already) start writing your own stories, dialogues and so forth, create a link to your website/blog so that people can check out
your stuff.

People want to know if you have the qualifications, just stating that you have previous accomplishments is not enough I am afraid. There are a lot of creative writers, as I am sure that you are as well! Show it, show it to us. We want to read your best work.

Not harsh at all. I totally understand and totally agree with you. I've got quite a few stories, and a rather crummy blog (with a truly horrendous story on it that I have thankfully abandoned,) so I'll just start plastering a grab bag of stories all over it for anyone to look at.

This'll take a week or so though since i have around 50-100 pieces of work to sift through.
