Currently just codenamed Xbox One Halo at the moment, thought the Halo 4 thread had run it's course so thought great a similar thread for the next big halo game.

I personally prefer if they had kept to the gameplay style of H3, with Reach's Forge, Odst's Firefight but anyway it's time for me to keep an open mind about the new Halo game.

Anyway here's the trailer too:

Honestly, no.
I liked halo 1
loved halo 2
liked halo 3
didn't know why the fuck I bought ODST
halo reach was okay
halo 4 I haven't played because of complete I-don't-give-a-damn :P

halo is the equivalent of call of duty, was good in the beginning but now they just make them to make money.

I didn't dislike Odst, but it felt more like a Halo game than Reach/4 plus Odst got the community together for firefight. :O

As for Reach I hated it with a passion when the Beta game out, refused to play it then I sort of got into it but still have the occassional grunt about it.
Halo 4 was the worst to me in so many way's, felt like was forced to play it for completionist reason's.
Halo 1/2/3 are my fav's, love playing them over, over while I really did like Halo wars but didn't do as well as I had hoped since was my fav RTS on the xbox.

As for Halo 5 well I'm waiting till they show more stuff before I decide since hated h4, well I'm not sure if 343i can pull off h4.
So Halo 5 is a big maybe but Halo 5 is the main reason why I'm considering the Xbox One. :paranoid:

no.

Probably. I consider 4 to be one of the best in the series and this upcoming game has the potential to expand a universe I find VERY interesting. 343 has my attention and loyalty for now.

I think Halo has run its course. We finished the fight yet we are still fighting. The only way I could be interested is if they turn in on its head and make it less casual and more unforgiving like Halo CE.

No Halo game has been announced for the Xbox One. That trailer was shown immediately before the announcement of the Halo TV series.

I wasn't impressed by Halo 4. Whilst the actual engine tech was great, the gameplay was mediocre and the story was absolute nonsense, only saved at all by a remarkeably well written and played Cortana - who won't be reappearing in the next game (also, it's a hilariously direct rip of Star Wars: A New Hope - really?).

Ambershee you were either trying to troll about the lack of knowledge or been living under a rock.

Halo Xbox One forum's exist because it's was announced, here's some further info

I do agree about Halo 4 being underwelming since it annoyed me to no end. The story was ok but it was completly rushed except the ending was horrible.
Also I do sort of agree that is was based on the New Hope but it also completly ripped off the Xindi attack: (Found the smaller attack but they later go for a bigger version to attack Earth, sound familar?)

Couldn't find the Halo 4 version but pretty sure it's the same thing except the Composer attack's which was 'New Pheonix' while in Star Trek it was in Florida, there was only slight change's since after killing million's the Composer would convert people into AI that would be used to convert people into Promethean Knight's, etc...

No. 343 bought it at a really really bad time tbh.

For me Halo died just at reach, with 3 being the best.

I have Halo 4.... I have nothing nice to say. Completely crap story. Since when did it become about vampires :P

I won't even touch the X-Box One, it's $500 for DDR3. It's a far cry from what a next-gen console should be.

It's probably better to wait till it come's down in price, not in rush to buy Xbox One until Halo 5 release date is close.

I seriously wonder how anyone can play another Halo game. I really enjoyed the live action miniseries and would rather see some kind of a movie than have another game. Even Bungee seem to have lost interest and Destiny is a game I could actually care about.

My current opinion of Halo 5:

No, not even if i get the chance to play an xbox one.

Aug 12 2013 Anchor

No because I don't intend to get an xbox one at all.

I probably will. I like the Halo series. I'm not saying the story is original, unique, or complex. But to me it's entertaining. The Halo story itself has major flaws. Master Chief is a very flat character until later in the series. The story itself had more complexity with what was going on around the universe and not about Chief. But nonetheless, I still enjoyed it a lot. Halo 3 finished that aspect of the story. Halo 4 felt more like a reboot where they take the same character and universe into a different story (kind of like the James Bond films). I'll eventually buy a Xbox One and the new Halo, but not until they are both released and come down in price.

The thing is Master Chief was that way for a reason, which is what made him unique just like Gorden Freeman or Doom-guy. The thing is if you want back-story behind the character then I recommend reading the books. Halo 4 to me felt like the worst in the series so for me I'm on edge when it comes to the next big Halo game since don't know what to expect so that's the deciding factor of whether I'm bothering with next gen at all. If I do get an Xbox One it'll because Halo 5 is awesome or Doom 4 turns up. Either way I'm waiting to decide if the leap is worth it.

I don't disagree. But the devs wanted to reboot the series with Halo 4 and take it in a different direction. I loved the first 3 Halo's. It was nice to see Master Chief develop as a character though. I think there is a huge back story between him and that scientist(can't think of her name off hand, the one being interrogated at the beginning of Halo 4) that could be explored. I also have it stuck in my head that Halo 4 is essentially the start of a new series rather than a continuation of the last, so maybe that eases disappointment.

They wanted to change the direction but I think we both know that most hated their direction with Halo 4 due to the game-play lacking and well several other things also there's been a back-story between the Chief, Dr Halsey for a while before H4, just first they shown it the games, thing is they tried to expand on her in Spartan Ops but it just seems like they dumped her by not giving her enough scenes, missing some parts like the part of how she cut her damaged hand off...........

I will buy it, play for a bit, see if it's good and keep playing. Otherwise I'll keep playing Bungie's new game Destiny!

In truth Halo 4 was basically like COD, which is terrible(my opinion) because I felt like I was playing the same game, just ones more sci-fi. Halo 3 was bomb, because it was a slower paced game and every kill you got was hard and rewarding, unlike now you can easily top the matches in Halo 4!

I was so disappointed by Halo 4. Killing Cortana, messing with all the gameplay mechanics, handing it off to 343, the reintroduction of the covenant as villans (I mean c'mon). I'm only playing 5 if they bring Cortana back.

I don't get this. She was dying. She was OLD. If she hadn't died of rampancy in 4, she would have in 5. Especially considering that the bloating she suffered from sucking up Halo's data banks probably accelerated her death.

That's the thing she was supposed to be changing, I don't believe she would have died but somehow become self-aware to the point where she wasn't just being programmed to be similar to Helsey, there's has been leaks in the past showing in 'human form' from the Halo 4 concept so she may return in Halo 5 while using the human model, as for the reasons for this happening I'm unsure due to the way Halo 4 ended.
