I've just noticed that the Atharon Conspiracy article is no longer available, I'm left wondering what happened.

Someone threaten legal action or what?

Either that (from the so-called modder) or there was alot of excessive drama from the suspect mod leaders in the comments section (and there's no way to "lock" an article)

All I said was that it probably wasn't such a good idea to put something back up that was obviously taken down for an important reason. You're not making anything better by spreading it around.

You can also win a lawsuit from being hurt while attempting to break into someone's house. They're just playing it safe for now.

To back up what Chunky is saying, yeah, the people being exposed in the article are threatening legal action.

Personally, I think it is bullshit. I know enough about libel law to know they don't have a bloody case at all if they wanted to persue the issue, but it rests in Scott's hands right now. It's his site, it was his call to take the article down, and what happens rests with him.

We'll put it back up if we can, but it's not like we have a lot of financial backing to take things into court if we decide to fight.

Just to add to what Joe was saying, the actual legal action threatened wasn't about the article itself, but rather the comments in the article, and the forum posts. I know for a fact that ModDB isn't liable for the comments of the community. There isn't really a case, and I feel that it's bullshit too, but again, I'm not the one who would have to foot the bill if they won.

it's probably nothing more than a pussy "IM GOING TO SUE YOU ILL SEE YOU IN COURT" threat that never actually happens. I've had a few of those before with a similar, thieving modder

If there was a donater I would donate as well. They are quite immature to threaten a lawsuit. It would cost them more then they would get in return!
