Ah, yes. First game I got for my PS3.

Did you get scared by Scare Crow? Honestly, I've heard people claim it, but it didn't even scare me.

Ah...No.

MILD SPOILER ALERT BELOW!

The only part of that that was even slightly creepy was the part where you walk into the morgue and there are whispers. Although, it only takes a minute for the whispers to just be annoying, because they are the same whispers on a loop. Yeah, the parts where he was a giant weren't scary at all.

All in all, it was one of the best games I have played in a while(Even though it wasn't scary, but I don't think that was really the point), and the combat system was probably the most fun one I've ever played with.

I'm re-playing Psychonauts and The Lost Vikings (one of the first games by Blizzard). Both of them are long time favorites of mine. I'm also having a go at Crysis 2 again, but I'm not much of a shooter guy. But heck, why not. It will be a good study if not much else.

Was playing Dead Rising 2, only got up to the mad soldier and gas zombies, not played it much since, but still playing it till I will finish it. Might just start it again, do things I missed before.

Crysis 2, with the patch, collecting things this time, trying not to kill anything I don't have too. :D

Aye, it's fun trying to -not- kill enemies when one is playing a game. I've tried it with Halo 2 -- as the Arbiter on any difficult but legendary. Even on heroic, sometimes its just best to evade enemies (especially when trying to get to the final boss fight. the door the big squad of brutes come through only opens after either they are walking through it, or they're all dead, so if you stealth just as they walk through, you can skip them and get to the next cutscene)

Aye, same here.

Scared two of my old rp buddies though. Granted, I was able to scare the one with just text and music in a little F.E.A.R. rp he and I did by ourselves for a day.

I'm playing through Borderlands again with a friend. I also plan on getting through Deus Ex:HR again. A two-day completion left me lacking some good exploring.

And after finishing ME2, if you're like me, you will look at the first game and go "wow that's no where near this".

Especially teammates and musical scoring...

Played Halo 3 for a while but wasn't really impressed after almost 20 years of FPSs on PC, the other day I came home not exactly 100% sober so I bought an old favorite of mine - Redneck Rampage from GOG, so I'm playing this game right now. Also I'm just installing Alpha Protocol - 2 bucks on steam, I'd buy it if it was Daikatana.

Crysis 1 and 2
Mass Effect
Dragon age 1 and 2
Assasins creed Brotherhood
Bad Company 2
The Battle for Middle Earth

Think that was all of them Lol

Oh man Redneck Rampage.. that's a GOG indeed. I remember playing that game over at a friend's house because my parents wouldn't allow me to play violent games back then hehe.

Two dollars? Damn, wish I had seen that. I've been looking to get Alpha Protocol.

Then start looking, because it still is for sale.

Half Life 1. It arrived in the mail for me yesterday, and I played it just about all day, and a few hours into the next morning(today). Still haven't finished yet, but I'm lovin' it so far :)

Half Life 1 has a decent length unlike most modern FPSs :)

Dead Island. I've been dreaming of a game like that forever. It does lots of things right and better than L4D, imho. It's a lot of fetch quests and stupid AI characters who will send you off finding a necklace or other meaningless stuff, but I never get tired of fighting the zombies they have. Wish it was on a different engine, though.

Yeah...I feel like I'm getting gypped with a lot of modern games...Probably because most developers focus too much on two things:

A: Getting it released as fast as possible for more money.
B: High end graphics.

Long games are becoming increasingly rare, even in RPGs, which is a little sad to me. Take BioWare for example. Their first RPG was Baldurs Gate, and it was 200+ hours long. After they were done with the BG series, they made Neverwinter Nights, which was very similar to BG, except it was in 3d. It was about 50+ hours by itself, and 100+ with expansions. After that, they made Knights of the Old Republic(Built on the same engine as NWN), which took about 40 hours my first playthrough, but 30 on later ones. Then came Jade Empire, which was only 35 hours or so in my first playthrough(Haven't played it a second time yet). Then Mass Effect only took me 24 hours to playthrough. I haven't played Dragon Age yet, so I won't comment on that one, but judging by the ones I have played, it goes like this:

BG: 200+ hours.
NWN: 50+ hours.
KotOR: 30-40 hours.
JE: 30 hours.
ME: 24 hours.

Now, I do think that 200+ hour games usually aren't all that fun(Due to grinding, or repetition), but I like RPGs in the 40-60 hour range. Shooters or action games I like to be shorter, more like in the 15-30 hour range.(Like Half Life)

Don't get me wrong, Jade Empire and Mass Effect are two of my favorite games ever, but they were considerably shorter than their predecessors.

The same thing has happened to just about every genre of games. If you look at an average shooter nowadays, like CoD or Halo, they're only 6-10 hours, roughly. Then compare that to Half Life, which is about 20 hours or so.

Oops...I let myself go on a rant again :paranoid:

Really? I don't mean to be a sour sport, but don't you find the sequel a bit too easy?
