What are gamers?? (explanation) Thread

Most of you on moddb and other people that arent on moddb call them self a "GAMER" but they probavly not gamers!!!

A gamer is a person that is always on for exsample PC or Wii, he always play games and he most of the times play games and finish the game to the last level...
The gamer is a person that dont care about graphic but about gameplay and that he can play this game again so its replay value and without that will game suck!

For exsample, do you like to play old Half Life 1 without any graphic mods like High Definition packs, do you like to play Duke Nukem 3D without HD packs and tits?
Too be a gamer you must play good and bad games, you must test them and if you like one of those then play it again and when it get bored of that game then just play another and another and if you wish to play again that game then you are a gamer but you must love rather gameplay then graphics...

Minecraft has good gameplay but not like you want High Definition Graphic, Trilions of polygons and trises,textures of 5000x5000 pixels or what ever!!
The only game that has good mix of gameplay and graphics are offcourse Serious Sam The First Encounter HD and also The Second Encounter HD ...

But when is about consoles i got pissed of by one total jackass Xbox360 or PS3 fanboy, damn fag...

So i discovered one new 7th gen console and its from South America from Brasil, Its called Zeebo and its first from Zeebo Incorporated...
Its an gaming console and it was funded a bit by EA,ID software,Activision,Namco,Capcom and many other because it had some unique features !

Dont be harsh if is weak or it has bad graphics, its actualy something betwen PS1 and PS2 but it has some good things and people, there are mostly ports of games and some low funded game studios or something like that...

As a gamer i loved many good games and i love Zeebo, its a cute console and even its costs a bit more then PS2 in my country i rather Zeebo because many huge and small game companies will put many games since it has a good way to eliminate piracy....

So that all for now and read my review and if you like this console and you would even want it to buy it but you cant for now because its only for now in Brasil and Mexico but it will soon in Russia and India then China but because recent events and contract with AT&T it will maybe come into US and some other countries...So if you like it and you would become fanboy of zeebo i made a group Zeebo Fanboy Group -ZFG and soon a part of family of VGAR ...

Oh no... I used a MOD to improve some graphics in a game. Looks like even though I've been gaming since I was 4 or so, I'm not a gamer anymore.

Ugh; I mean I've seen some pretty stupid threads on a lot of gaming forums, and whilst this isn't quite the most idiotic, it's defiantly up there...

First and foremost you basically claim that graphics have no meaning within the game at all; which is complete and utter nonsense. Graphics can easily make or break a game - and not for their realism, but for what they add to the game. Take for example the two latest Prince of Persia games - it's a great example of the differences in art style. In Prince of Persia (commonly referred to as 2008) the game is set in an amazing almost water-colored environment. This in of itself adds a new level of depth to the game, as every where looks unique, and it implores the player to explore the vast open-world. Whilst in the latest game the graphics are set inside temples, and thus give the game a dreary, boring look that gives no motivation for the player to care about the world itself. Graphics are vital in creating a mood, which also features into the story (you know, that very important part of a game you don't even mention).

In fact, i would argue that story is far more important than either graphics or gameplay. If there's no interesting story in a game why am I motivated to continue playing? It's not like there aren't a million FPS's out there - what makes certain games rise above the rest? The story - chiefly; good gameplay defiantly helps but you can forgive a lot in a bad game if there's a good story - the same isn't really true of gameplay. Obviously arcade games such as Mega Man and Mario detract this rule; but those are games that are extremely fun to play regardless; most games nowadays aren't like that - because the market has become stagnated.

Besides; I don't know anyone; at all, that plays a game they don't like because it has good graphics. Who does? Who honestly says "Wow this game is so boring, but the graphics are amazing so I'll keep going"? Nobody. They may claim the graphics are great and that they enhance the experience, but your stupid argument that there're people out there that only play games for graphics is highly mis-informed...

I know you\re trolling, and just advertising for a really poor-looking console compared to others on the market in the countries where they're affordable, but your points are so idiotic I felt compelled to comment on some of your saner points...

Tekken 6 is better than Tekken 3 from a casual / objective standpoint (as in not tournament based) seeing as how it features pretty much every fighter from Tekken 3, and online play...

1st of all, i don't see what's your problem if ppl like ONLY HD games with graphics that appeared 2/3 days ago, if those are the games they like then so be it, why the f**k should it matter ??

3rd of all, if you play HD games with millions of pixels you ARE STILL A GAMER and you don't need to spend hundrets of days per year in front of the pc or whatever you own !! ..it's all in the feeling you get when playing
I'm not saying that graphics are everything but they are 50% important in a game, the other 50% is gameplay & the feeling you get from the game
(for example i never played AvP1 (Aliens vs Predator for those who don't know the game) but when i played AvP2 for the first time with the Marine,man, i almost took a crap in my pants, it scared the hell out of me...and the game was running with detail levels on medium and screenrez 800x600

Also i like Zeebo because it runs mobile/cellphone games and iam somehow love those games...

I remember my first cellphone game on my cellphone in 1999 or 2000...Tetris ^.^

Also my favorite mobile games are Doom RPG,Robot Alliance,Bunker 3D and some other games!

If you have Zeebo because its weak then you probavly have Nintendo DS,GameBoy(Color & Advance),PSP and other games...
Also because it dosent have many games it dosent mean that it sucks...all componets are "mobile" so its ecological,spends less electricity and it plays J2ME games...its good for Indie devs like fishlab games or NETSOFTWARE...

Just that you know, i gived them few ideas,mostly game ideas and they accepted it!
They will maybe redone some stuff but my ideas was so good

Its a small step for me and small step for me to get to the game industry...

Well i dont know how to code or make models of vehicles i could just make sketches or write a complex storyline in just few days!

Well iam 15,iam from Croatia,all day on pc and always playing some games,doing some "research"...

Always arguing on youtube(real battlefield)...

Watching walktroughts and playtroughts, going to wz2100.net site and now rarely commenting and suggesting...

Aborted my map project, a huge map for WZ, there is no patch for WZ that will mix all three wz features so the textures are mixed up and too many objects and units for most of PC"s... I should have atleast pc with 3ghz 1gb ddr2 ram vram ddr2/3 256mb to run the map without lags...

Also if a PC gamer hates Zeebo its normal...I hate consoles to but i dont hate consoles like Zeebo because its weak but cute,good games and somehow i love GBA,GBC,PS1 and Zeebo...I never liked some consoles like PS2 or PS3 because its like a dog or cat on steroids xD

Hold up i'm confused, how did this turn from a western console flame, to a job app, after that i'm not too sure many people are going to be happy with you, nor want to work with you. I know i woudn't if someone kept trying to convince me to make my game for some strange console.

Regardless, your argument as to why you dislike a more powerful console is that they are better...that's really what you just said. I have no idea why you want, so desperately, for people to believe playing mobile phone games on their TV is fun (the whole appeal of mobile games is the fact they are, you know, mobile) that you would go through the trouble of making yourself look such an idiot / troll.

Regardless, could it not just as easily be argued that those that despise HD graphics aren't gamers because they wish to hold the industry back from constant enhancement?
