My friend has a mac and steam on it. Is it possible to install mods on a mac? I'm unfamiliar with mac and he is computer illiterate, he doesn't even know if mac has something similar to Windows Explorer (browsing the harddrive/s).

If you can install mods any help as to where to find the Steam/SteamApps folder?

I'm pretty sure that not one third-party mod for the source engine works on a mac. I don't even think anyone knows how to get it on the mac, I'm guessing it would be a lot easier now seeing how the source engine is now configured for the mac, but that just means that people either don't know/don't want to go through the trouble of porting the game over to the mac.

Yea I figured, cuz I know most mods that do expand from something other than Windows, go with Linux. Thanks tho.

Aren't most source mods DLL based? If that's the case, then they should run on a Mac?

@Ambershee thats what I thought but...

if windows is told (via exe file) to place X, Y and Z in these specific places, which might not exist on a mac, then the file just won't run. But I was lookin more towards the aspect of downloading a mod that is just a folder, so u can drag and drop. But even still if a Sourcemods folder did exist the files are made on, and probably for windows only.

Could use an emulator. To simulate a windows enviroment. How ever, converting the game to mac, really isn't that hard. You just need the right tools. I personally don't care for mac. So you'd never see me release anything from myself to Mac. That being said, i'm sure theres tutorials on the Valve community wiki or something.
