It's too bad I haven't found anything very close to this idea.
Played Metal Gear Solid 1 and/or 2? Well here's a mod idea.
Concept:

Players and team mates must infiltrate an area, complex, base, structure, zone whatever. They must reach the objective point steathly. Once a player reaches the point the round is over and the map restarts. If your spotted by the AI you surrender and you are in limbo until the round ends. I was thinking there would be a possibility that team mates would be able to help you escape from a prison or something or once you surrender you executed or something...
Gameplay Types:

End on spot: When an AI spots a player the player surrenders and is out for the round. The stealth team has no weapons in this gameplay mode.

End on spot with firearms: When an AI spots a player the player surrenders and is out for the round. The stealth team has silenced weapons to take out AI. Assassinations must be done when the AI cannot see the player and where no other AI can witness the assassination. Bodies must be hidden so the AIs won't be alerted that their is an enemy.
And the rest

I guess everything else would be like MGS. There would be a few puzzles in each map and such. Maybe fancy futuristic tools like temp cloak? Stealth footwear? Disguise? Cardboard Box ;)

Well I wrote this up out of pure boredom and would be really kewl is somebody actually started building this on a game engine like Quake 3, Half-Life, whatever. Suggestions are welcome :)

Still doesn't come "very close" to my mod idea. My mod idea is a coop/teamplay evasion mod.

I personally wouldn't care at all for such a game/mod, but I'm sure quite a few would like one... I just hate the whole "somebody spots you, game over" thing. It has always frustrated me. In real life, if you're sneaking in someplace and somebody spots you, it's not neccessarily "game over", especially if they're far enough away from everybody else... since then you can kill them before they alert anybody else.

lol...anyone played Perfect Dark for gameboy? Its the hardest game, it took me forever just to beat training and even longer to beat teh first mission :P In the training if a guard sees you its game over, and you cant save in the middle of the mission (which are like 1/2 hour long each)

Well there would be a small field of vision so enemies cant spot you from a mile away, they would come closer if they saw something move. Well whatever, I enjoy your views so far, more needed :D

Yeah.
I also just realized it would have bad replay value. I mean infiltrating the same maps over and over. It would need a lot of maps to be successful :/

Guards vs Thieves is going to be a stealth based co-op mod, though the guards are controlled by players as well (we're looking at implementing AI, but we don't have enough coders to go around at the moment).

It's not quite what you were talking about (you don't go into limbo until you get killed), but it's going to be objective based, and rely heavily on stealth (the Guards won't be able to sound alarms until they see evidence of a thief or break in).
