@Ninjadave:
From all those people who actually "care" about the franchise. I don't know where these customers come from the numbers speak of but anybody I asked says the same about the titles coming after the original free: total crap. Many though still hope for a film rip and getting back to the original and then by a new version in the hope of a change but getting totally disappointed. This is because games can get away with this fucking "cat in the sack" way of selling stuff burning people left and right. Still though I'd like to know who these "customers" are...

I don't know much about the newer Spyro sales, I just remember reading a few articles on the rise of cell phone games. I even have a book on it somewhere.
6 games means somehow money is being made.

Guess I'll need to do some digging.

What goes for phone games I think they catch on anyways. You can't do too demanding stuff there and people playing those tend to be not the people who played the original Spyro games but being casual players. This should explain why the phone games work since it's a different audience.

just so you know quite a few stories follow the same pattern of narrative, the bible and the matrix are very similar as well but hey were is the thread about that?

Well the Matrix ripped off Neuromancer.. and Neuromancer ripped off Philip K Dick (Blade Runner ect).. and Blade Runner (and Star Wars) ripped off Metropolis..

rinse and repeat.

That said the new Spyro game is very similar to the new Crash Bandicoot and Sonic games.. its a common trend thats going on in the industry where they water the game down to be more "CHILD" friendly and remove everything classic gamers have come to love from the franchise. As this is unfirmilar to new gamers the classical gamers have to suffer for their devotion. It sucks.

With mobile/casual games its different, the idea with those are simply to do a game in the least amount of time possible. To do that on a next-gen platform is a waste of money and resources.
