I don't know much about the newer Spyro sales, I just remember reading a few articles on the rise of cell phone games. I even have a book on it somewhere. Guess I'll need to do some digging. |

What goes for phone games I think they catch on anyways. You can't do too demanding stuff there and people playing those tend to be not the people who played the original Spyro games but being casual players. This should explain why the phone games work since it's a different audience. |

Well the Matrix ripped off Neuromancer.. and Neuromancer ripped off Philip K Dick (Blade Runner ect).. and Blade Runner (and Star Wars) ripped off Metropolis.. rinse and repeat. That said the new Spyro game is very similar to the new Crash Bandicoot and Sonic games.. its a common trend thats going on in the industry where they water the game down to be more "CHILD" friendly and remove everything classic gamers have come to love from the franchise. As this is unfirmilar to new gamers the classical gamers have to suffer for their devotion. It sucks. With mobile/casual games its different, the idea with those are simply to do a game in the least amount of time possible. To do that on a next-gen platform is a waste of money and resources.
