Possible Star Wars Squadrons Mod Idea Thread

Hey, this is my first time posting anything so hope this is not out of place.

Some time ago I got the Squadrons in the hopes of getting a nice immersive VR space craft flight game.
Unfortunately to my dismay there was no active VR Controller support native to the game (some excuse was given as to not enough button mappings being available / latency, but they support PS/Xbox controllers?)

Therefore I wanted to know if it would even be possible for a mod to be made that allows for just that, VR Controller support?
Preferably for the Quest 2 Link in my case.
