Greetings all! My name is Richard. I'm part of a team developing a survival/adventure game called Rise of the King (www.rotkgame.com). I've loved video games for as long as I remember, and as a child I still recall having so much fun watching my dad or cousin play games! Eventually I started playing them on my own, and then got hooked, and the rest, they say, is history! ;)

I'm primarily a writer, and a sucker for story-oriented games and games that deal with real life situations and problems. I think this medium is to powerful to not use it to try and work at least some good in the world around us! :)

I also love basketball, and coach for a small local sports program :)

Conrad here, saying hi! Hobbyist game developer in my spare time, hoping to turn my passion into more than just a hobby. I have 3 tiny games on Google Play so far, but am working on a great casual-game project call Fruit Smoothie right now (I might do a kickstarter for it when it's a bit further along). I have a dev blog here: www.uzmadesign.co.uk. I love all kinds of games, from the classic arcade games like space invaders, pac man - RIP Masaya Nakamura :( - etc. to simple yet challenging puzzlers, to massive immersive epic adventures.

I use AGK as my language of choice as it suits my coding style and allows me to realise my ideas on multiple platforms, and I can turn my hand to 2d and 3d art, and music. Hopefully I can make a good contribution to the community!

P.S. I LOVE MAKING GAMES! :)

Hello from Denmark!
I'm a software developer and hobbyist game developer, aspiring to release an Indie RPG this year. It's something I've been working on for a couple of years actually, but with a couple of long breaks inbetween productive periods. A small video on the progress - I guess it doesn't really show much but 75% of the time so far has gone into developing the server.

Hi you all!

I am Mikko, been developing small games and doing some digital art for about five years now. Although I love game development I have been focusing on creating websites lately. I have been working on a game assets site, which features my own art as well as assets I have come by in the internet.

Best,

Hey Everyone!

I'm Shiv, and I'm new to Moddb. I recently just graduated from school where I studied game design and development. I've been looking to find a group to work with on either a mod or a level. I'm not really sure as to where I should be looking in the forums for that so any help in guiding me towards the right place would be awesome! Recently I've been working on a couple of projects which in include a DM level for Unreal 4, a single player level for Dying Light, and my own digital pinball machine! In my free time I love playing pinball so if you want to talk about anything pinball feel free to PM me! Hopefully I'll be able to post a bit more WIP stuff in the future if people are interested. Thanks!

Hello!

I am from Poland and I've just finished my first game, Froggo Challenge. Before you think "It shoud be poor", check it. It will be a big pleasure if you give me a feedback :)If you like my game, please help me to promote it (you can share game with friends and rate it 5 star).

Froggo Challenge: Play.google.com

Trailer: Youtube.com

Froggo Challenge is a small game where you can only jump and your major weapon is your brain. You have to use obstacles in such way to overcome one hardship after another in order to complete further levels. Yours enemies have different abilities which you can use against them. It's not easy to finish this game. You have to be neat, clever and patient. Froggo Challenge was created by Damgraf, tiny game studio. Really tinny - one man studio.

Hello! I'm Patrick, one-half of the indie dev Fuzzy Orbit Games. I've been in games for a long time (the first published title I worked on was the original PlanetSide), but have only recently started to develop indie titles in the last 3-4 years. They're so much fun! I just found this site a week ago and wanted to say hi.

My friend Andy and I just finished a new game that's free to try if you're curious. It's called Burglars, Inc. for the iOS. It's a new kind of puzzle game we made from scratch...we're not aware of anything else that uses the same puzzle mechanics.

Anyways, this site is cool, and I love checking out all of the creative stuff people are working on. My favorite part of development is the beginning when there's still a lot of questions to be answered. Seeing "works in progress" and how different folks solve different issues is fascinating.

So hello to everyone, and feel free to drop us a line to ask questions, give feedback, or just say hi!

Hello!

I have been working with games since 2006, decided last year that me and my husband would start an indie studio and see if we could make it. :) We aim to release a game during next year, for win, mac and pc. We are currently working on the engine. Yes, we will use our own tech, publishers will run away from us, screaming...

Anyway, nothing to show yet, so until then, I'll just hang out here and see what the rest of you are up to!

Hello everyone, my name is Darren and this is the first time I have dabbled in the unknown. Never heard of 'modding' until my son showed me Steam. Not much of a computer gamer, MoWAS2, Blood Bowl, KSP and Star Hammer are the only things I mess with.

Not a massive computer user at all - except for porno! My first PC was back in the dark ages. It was a 486dx with cd rom and svga graphics - £2000. Expensive typewriter. However, I bought it on finance, £55 a month, and after I paid the first payment the company went bankrupt and they never took another payment or replied to my letters. On real paper...

I'm 49 and retired due to an accident at work. I play tabletop wargames, target shoot with my son, look after six cats and my daughters Pug when she is at work, and have just started an OU degree - just for fun.

We live in a little house just outside of Durham, you can see the cathedral from the bedroom window, in the UK. Married, two children who are 23 and 19. My wife is a teacher, but she only works with children on the autistic spectrum.

I wanted to be a tank driver when I was younger, but they wouldn't let me.

Hey! Not sure who actually sees these things but what the hell haha! I'm Callum, I'm 23 years old from the UK, just outside London. Music Production graduate and seriously looking in to getting in to video game composition and sound design. Here's a showreel of games that I've overdubbed with my own music and sound: Youtube.com

I'd love to create some music for Indie games, so if you're ever in need of someone, hit me up!

Looking forward to interacting with a community of video game lovers such as myself! :)

Hello all,

My name is Triston I am from the United States and have found myself in a rut. I write for fun and have been working on a story for quite sometime, but it never felt right as a book so I let my passion for video games take over. I am a horrible artist and languages are not my strong suit so I find myself not sure how to get into the gaming industry seeing writers arent very important from what I have read. I am very discouraged and scared about what I am too do with my life when this is my passion and this is what I am good at. If anyone could message me with tips on what I should do to get into the industry please feel free.

Hey guys,

I'm Philipp. I'm working full time as a software developer (Unity) in the eLearning/Simulation business here in Germany for five years now.
One of my passions however is game development. After some attempts working on an indiegame as part of a team, I now decided that I want to go lone wolf.
I'm doing this in my sparetime. It's tough, however I figured it is the only good option for me, mostly because I can go my own pace and I won't have to be worried that at some point the team could break.

The best gaming memories for me have always been the ones when I we played cooperative. Friends come together, relax on the couch, have a beer and blast through coop titles. That is why I wanted to develop such a game, to bring that feeling back.

I am also a big fan of the alien franchise and scifi in general, so I got inspired by that and now I'm almost a year in developing Biosignature. What a journey so far.
With all the valuable time and energy spent, I really hope it will do something. It might even make it to your very own screen? Who knows :-)

Philipp :-)

Hi all,

The names Adam. Did a degree in game design, had a year out now I'm doing some machine learning style stuff at masters.

I've just released a game on android that I've been working on. It's free and theres no annoying adds or anything so please give it a go and let me know what you think!

The game is called Bob, but the easiest way to find it is to search for 'aGoodCube' on the Google play store. That's the developer name and it should show up as the only result.

It's a puzzle game which encourages player discovery rather than just handing you the answers on a plate.

Any questions or bugs or anything let me know.

Have fun!

Hi everyone,

My name is Jon, long time lurker, first-time poster!

I’m a composer based in Melbourne and just starting out - my focus is writing immersive interactive music for games. I was hoping to get some advice/guidance from you.

I’ve put together a website (www.jonforest.com.au) with a few samples of my music but I’m not entirely sure where to go from here.

What are things that you look for when hiring a composer to make music for your games?

My point of difference is to make a unique and customised piece of music for games that really “pops” over using “stock” sounds that anyone/everyone has access to? So, what would make you hire a composer like me over using stock websites like www.musicbed.com/ that provide cheap or free effects/music etc?

If anyone has any feedback or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Jon

Hello Everyone! My name is Jon, and I'm a college student going for a degree in Game Development. I've been gaming all of my life and coding for the past few years. At the moment I've just done little personal projects but nothing released in any form. Thought it would be good to hop on here and meet some fellow devs!

Apr 5 2017 Anchor

Hi! Yet another noob probably far too late to the game, but I'm here..

I'm sure everyone hates people like me asking stupid questions but I'm interested in learning how to mod games and understand what makes programs "tick". So I figured I would start with the classic Doom.

Doom was a gateway drug for me as a kid. I got grounded when I was caught playing in my dads office, even get kicked out of school for putting it on the computer PC's.

Now that I'm all grown up I've found my was back to my roots and discovered along the way that there are all types of fun ways to make this game as great as it was when I was 15.

So I've done a lot of research and got some mods to work. I'm trying to use more and more to feed my addiction and things are getting confusing for me. I'm new to doing all this but I would love to get a handle on this so I can pass the info on to others that may be interested and so I can have my own enjoyment.

I'm just testing the waters here first to see how friendly everyone is, I know how some of these sites can work so before I step into the firing range, I figured I would introduce my self. Hopefully I can learn a few things from you guys!
