ok now we are getting some ideas... bluewolf has got the jist of it

alpha - comes before beta, usually really only early version generally released privately

Generally, Beta means 2-3 weeks of testing and Alpha means 9 weeks.

I'm presuming all these will be cross referenced? Perhaps and option with news posts and features to 'define all' that tells you what all modding words in it mean...
