Hello everyone, I'm making this post because I need some advice, I'll explain bellow, but before let me share with you the game I'm currently working on. SideWorldSideWorld is a colony simulator inspired by Terraria and Craft the World, it's actually playing Craft the World that pushed me to go through with this project, i love Craft he World but after playing it for quite some time it left me wanting more but after a lot of searching I couldn't find anything like it, also after spending a lot of time building a cart network on Craft the World I was a bit disappointed to see that the Dwarfs would prefer to walk instead of using the cart system because it was shorter even though it was slower. Whats in store for SideWorld:
There are more features that I have planned but for now this is what I'll be focusing on first, I don't want to get over my head so this is what ill be focusing on first. Here is the current stable-ish build: There's not much to it for now only mining, building and day/night cycle (P key to open the test tools). So now to the point of this post, currently I'm working on developing SideWorld full time but I'll soon have to make a decision, either find a job and move SideWorld to the background which will hurt development a lot or just dedicate to it, i can probably survive till summer before I get into trouble. So the question is do you think SideWorld has potential? Could I possible manage to make a living out of it? Not looking to get rich or something as long as I could get some to pay my bill and be able to work on what I love it's enough to me. What options do I have to get support early on? Should I release as an early access? Feedback on these questions would be much appreciated as at the moment I'm a bit lost and not sure what to do next. Also feedback on the game is much appreciated too. You can also check my twitter if you wish: Twitter.com Thanks. |
