I dunno, but it seems awfully coincidental. Granted, the name is "kinetic", but the context seems just... a tad bit too close. Eh, I just thought it aught to be pointed out. Edited by: TheUnabridgedGamer |

There's less of a coincidence when you look the context; Kine is a prefix for movement/motion (like if you were to study Kinesiology). In Microsoft's case they went and added a pun to play on its ability to either connect gamers to the games, or to each other. |

*looks* Kinetic for Playstation 2 Eye Toy for hands free excercise and movement based games *turns head* Kinect for Xbox 360 for hands free excercise and movement based games Yeah, I don't see it. On another note -- this my third thread (from what I can remember) where you've posted first, if not within the first 3 posts. Now there's an interesting coincidence... |

Cyrid just doesn't leave moddb :p he is allways around xD I wouldn't say it is stolen, many games implying movement based gameplay use some form of Kine in their name (like Cyrid explained) Also, Kinetic is not developed by sony -- °w° |

Just like Googling "Move game" gets you some Non-Sony references as well as Sony ones. There are only so many motion related words out there to use. -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |

....people are still posting on this thread, even though it's dead. I must figure out how to get them to post this much on threads I actually want to keep alive... |

No. If it was a dead thread, people wouldn't be posting. A dead thread is one where people don't post. |

it wasn't stolen, only a knock-off. and since i dont care about controllerless gaming, im not going to argue with anyone about this. so shut up! what's done is done, you can't change what microsoft does even though they don't have very original ideas. plus it's called the eye toy, not the kinetic. so the names arent similar Edited by: Spr09 |

...the name of the game was "kinetic". That was-- you're not even getting the point. And the fact remains -- this thread served it's purpose. It discusses something obscure, noticed by chance. There are threads on important things in modern gaming that barely get more than 5 posts. |

pretty much sums it up Edited by: Spr09 |
