Hello. I've been a huge fan of indie games for a couple years now, and within those years i've brainstormed ideas for an indie game of my own. I wanted to celebrate some of my favorite games in one expansive project. I've also been a fan of fighting games, especially ones where famous characters cross over (Marvel V. Capcom, Super Smash Bros, ect.) So, I wanted to ake a fighting game full of indie game characters. I've been playing with the idea in my mind for over a year now and I think it's time to start working on animation and programming. I wanted some ideas on how to go about making a fighting game, what engine to use, what characters I should add, what attacks those characters should have, ect.

My current plan is to try and make the game in Mugen, but i'm not very familiar with the engine, only starting researching it recently. I know games like Rumble Pak and that TouHou fighter have used Mugen, so making a full game shouldn't be too challenging, but I still am going to need practice. If anyone has any better ideas, please let me know. I also wanted to ask about finisher attacks. The first characters I plan to add are Shovel Knight, Quote, and Commander_Video (This will be more of a fan game than anything else if that wasn't clear enough) I had Ideas for finishers, but I wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas. I know people's favorite thing when it comes to discussing smash characters is what their final smash would be, so I don't think people would be too shy of discussing similar subjects. Finally I have a list of about 30 other characters i'd like to add (which I wish not to reveal at this time) and a list of 30 more characters that i'm not sure about adding (Which is where any character suggestions will go)

I'm hoping you guys are willing to suggest ideas for the game and get involved in the creative process. Thank you for reading this far through, and have a great day.
