Greetings!
Myself and a small team of people are working on a non-profit passion project called Tiberian Sun: Incursion.

Tiberian Sun: Incursion is a to-be-released non-profit PC game, created to provide an innovative multiplayer third person shooter experience, set in the iconic Tiberian Sun universe created by Westwood Studios and Electronic Arts.
We use a fully sourced game engine to create this game, based on an older game engine. We already have a fully functional gameplay loop and completed several successful closed tests.
However, our game and engine need help getting graphics to a more modern standard, and we are currently in early stages of implementing PBR materials and related systems.
This is where we could use extra hands: We are looking for someone with experience working on these computer graphics systems, someone with an interest and passion for updating older game engines to modern standards.
What is needed:
- C++ programming knowledge including modern C++ features.
- Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2019 for Windows Development.
- Working knowledge of Git and how to use it and work with repositories.
- Good English communications skills.
- A passion for video games and programming.
What is recommended:
- 3D Math skills including boxes, lines, frustums, vectors, matrices, quaternions, curves, splines, and collision detection math.
- Experience with Direct3D 11 (including HLSL and programmable shaders).
- Knowledge of the Autodesk 3D Studio Max API.
What we offer:
- A chance to gain extra experience working on a larger codebase.
- An opportunity to look at how an older game engine ticks, and improve it.
Interested? You can get in touch simply by messaging me here, or by sending me a direct message via Discord: Raap#0956, and we can provide additional information or answer questions if needed. 🙂

Thank you for reading so far! Below I've added a brief FAQ to cover some common questions.
- Q: Is this legal?
- Yes, we follow community guidelines given to us by Electronic Arts. The creation of fan games based on their intellectual property is allowed as long as nothing is being sold.
- Q: How big is the dev team for this project?
- Right now we're counting 7 people; 1 designer/artist/producer (myself), 2 programmers, 2 narrative designers, 1 SFX specialist, 1 composer, and the occasional freelance contributor.
- Q; How long has this project been in development?
- Active development didn't start until early 2022, so less than a year as of this moment.
- Q; What game engine do you use?
- We use a fully sourced, largely custom game engine based on an older game engine. The engine is called the W3D Engine and it is being co-developed with W3D Hub. We use our own development tools, which are also constantly evolving alongside the engine itself.
- Q: Is this a real game and not vaporware?
- Yes it is real! While we have not done any PR yet, and we're not ready for a full public reveal, we do have a work in progress website to give a better idea of the project: incursion.zone
- Q: How is this game being published?
- As we are a non-profit passion project, we decided self-publishing is the best path for us. As such, a lot of development focus has gone towards creating completely custom infrastructure for development, distribution, and player experiences. For example, the project has its own launcher application.
