That said, if you looking for a GAMING site, you better just keep on moving. This is primarily a game DEVELOPING set of sites.

Stupid? Haha. First you came from no where, I had no contact with you so if theres any rights to be childish and call petty names, it would be in my court. Yes I know what the site is, I don' need reminding.

The forums exist to exchange information about game development between people who are interested in it, not to amuse the occasional gamer passing by with random chit-chat on demand.

If you're not happy with what takes place here (or what doesn't) you'd best take your ego to some casual site (4chan?) where you might get the attention you seek.

It's probably ok to talk about playing games here too... There are 4 forum sections here dedicated for that. Also the threads in General Banter don't need to be about games or game development. And The ModDB Bar thread is pretty much just random chatting. Then there's also Cosmos for all serious discussions, which for some reason includes lots of gaming threads...

Sure but that's just something extra. Every forum has "that section for everything else".

I'm not against having such discussion there but it isn't where the value of the forum lies. I am against calling a forum dead just because someone's run out of topics they can comment on with their level of expertise.

The forums are far from dead, however its very developer driven always has been, always will be, this doesn't mean casual chit chats not welcome, we have the moddb bar for these things.

I haven't yet been born as a developer*, does that count?

*I.e. still just learning and planning.

Still Alive here i am moving onto to Indie developing, with some few interesting concepts i had in mind.
I also had in mind of creating kind of neat, friendly 2D platform game. (Orbman)

I wish this site was more active!

I think the sites still very active at the time of this message 2800 people are logged in but rather the forums is pretty inactive. Not everyone who uses moddb uses the forums and thats okay I myself never used the forums for awhile after signing up to moddb.

If Alexa says it's alive it means it's alive... I guess?

This site is active enough for me.While I'm not a developer,I AM a gamer.I like to keep up with what's going on in the gaming world.I have also found most people on this site to be friendly and helpful.
