Hi All,

I installed in UT99 and in Unreal Gold/Napli the HD 4K 4.3GB extreme edition textures. To install them, I simply copied the various items to the texture folders of the 3 games. However, they don't look right. I have the following errors in the Log:

Warning: Failed to load Package0: Can't find file for package Package0
Warning: Failed to load texture package screenshot: Cant find file for package Package0
Warning: Failed to load package1: Can't find file for package Package1
Warning: Failed to load LevelSummry Package1.LevelSummary: Can't find file for Package Package1
Warning: Failed to load Deja Vu Gryphon Revisited V2.0: Can't find package for Deja Vu Gryphon Revisited V2.0
Warning: Failed to load Class Deja Vu Gryphon Revisited V2.0; Can't find file for Deja Vu Gryphon Revisited V2.0

I have installed successfully D3D11 Renderers, and they're running on UT99 and Unreal Gold/Napali.

If you need more information, please ask.

I would like the graphics to work properly. Does any one have some idea of what I should do?

Hey All,

I Fixed the problem, mostly. I only downloaded and installed the package part 2 of the 4K HD Textures, because they were the largest, thinking I had a choice. It wasn't clear to me that I also had to download and install Part 1. I did that, and that fixed the problem for UT99, Nali Chronicles, TRNP Ultimate Edition.

However, that did not fix the issue for Spatial Fear and for Unreal Gold. I have no idea why Spatial Fear doesn't work, but Unreal Gold seems to have an issue with initializing D3D.

Anyone have any ideas of what I might do?

Man, complicated things with gold version, some followers thinks it`s because of pro version here, extreme pro:

Seems to have some support for old version of direct X, so my advise is to hold your old direct X 8 cart (retro computer), ..like a gold.(install old direct X version if possible).

What I'm going to do is to uninstall Unreal Gold, and then start over. I installed all these 4K textures, and the D3D11 drivers, on my old installation. Maybe a fresh start will fix my issues. Time will tell. It only takes time and persistence. It's worth a try.

Separate issue: I have an add-on game called Spatial Fear installed on UT99, as it's supposed to be. It doesn't work after installing the 4K textures. It worked before, though it's launched from it's own .exe file using it's own shortcut from the desktop. All my other add-ons in UT99 work, though they're launched from within UT99.

Well, that is, except for two exceptions: I have Nali Chronicles and RTNP Ultimate Edition installed in UT99, both of which are launched by shortcuts from the desktop. They both work after installing the 4K textures. So, that leaves just Spatial Fear that doesn't work. I wonder why?

The new 4K textures look good.

Every one,

I finally figured out why Spatial Fear wasn't working. It was DEP doing it. That is, it was Data Execution Prevention (DEP), a Windows security feature. Windows believed that the game was a security threat. So, it prevented the game from working. I disabled it.

To find the DEP options in the latest Windows 10 Home version (like i have), look in Settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > APP and browser control > Exploit Protection > Exploit Protection Settings, in case you have a mysterious issue of something not working.

Now, all the games in UT99 are working after installing all those enhancements. Nice!

Edit: I fixed the problem with Unreal Gold not working. As stated above, I uninstalled it and started over. Everything worked this time. The 4K Extreme textures with Direct X 11 are working now as they're supposed to.
