I did notice. But is not CS a game, and is not that "unfinished" model in it? Thus, that is an unfinished model in-game. Seems like a waste of time to me, actually. Work on putting a model in-game even though it hasn't been fixed up and completed. -- Matthew 'Fokker' Fuesz |

Maybe you don't know, but it takes about 15 seconds to actually get a custom model to work in CS. Just take, say, v_mp5ris.mdl and rename to v_mp5.mdl, and put in ...cstrike/models/ (damn backslashes got deleted) and overwrite the existing model. That's it. - Edited By Chandler On Tue 6th, Aug 2002 @ 6:14am |

Yes, I know. My point is why go to the work of exporting, compiling, etc, etc if the model isn't finished and has known problems. -- Matthew 'Fokker' Fuesz |

dude...im so sorry, but WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. its not shit to export a model, and i can get it done in no time. when i say unfinished, thats why its exported into CS, so we can make sure it doesnt have holes etc. thats part of the testing process of each weapon. that was the point, cobra pasted it a bit early, wasnt ready for public. -- i l l O g i c |

yea hands are shit. but then again, thats not our hands, its just for testing, so i dont care. -- i l l O g i c |

Getting the origins and scaling all correct and stuff can be a pain in the @$$. Why bother if it isn't done. And obviously you're not animating (so what the hell is the point?) I test my models in-game (once they are skinmeshed and smoothed, but not skinned) by having a simple "hold" animation. And I don't show it off to anyone other than my team members. I don't show off unfinished models to the mod community... heck, I hardly show unfinished models to the modeling community. (Mainly because people seem to always skip over the part about something not being done, and then they keep commenting on how that thing isn't right) And if you know of problems (or know its not really done) - why the hell did you have it skinned? Kinda stupid, if you ask me - what if it turns out that one of the skins will no longer align right once you fix and finish up the model? More work than is needed... The main thing is that you shoud've seen those holes and stuff and fixed them early on. -- Matthew 'Fokker' Fuesz |
