I've noticed karma doesn't update in real time anymore, where clicking on a plus or minus would result in a notification but not followed by a change in number unless you refresh the page. Wondering if it's just on my end... |

In the new ModDB update will we be able to link our YouTube channels to our ModDB profiles? Me (and I'm sure a lot of other people on the site) record their modding attempts and upload it to YouTube, being able to link accounts so that new modding videos showed up on ModDB automatically from YouTube would be awesome! Kinda like how Steam has the videos tab on your profile. |

Do you have a link to an example of this? Not quite sure what you mean -- Scott Reismanis |

I upload videos of my modding attempts all the time so to have this automatically show up on my ModDB profile without having to upload to ModDB or post a blog post would be awesome. |

Ahh I see, no plans to do this in v5. But v5 will be a rolling deploy, which means step 1 is just getting the basics out the door. Once the community is happy we will begin including more complex upgrades such as this. -- Scott Reismanis |

Is there any chance Metacritic will be integrated with ModDB? Sorta like ratings from Metacritic will be displayed in ModDB's games/mods? Edited by: _revenant.4K -- _revenant.4K

Is there a page where we can see all the planned features? Just so it's possible to refer to something like that before posting any ideas. And on that note, a privacy setting where our profile can only be viewed by members, perhaps with additional restrictions on member levels, would be appreciated. I don't find the guest feature all that wonderful, but since that seems to be staying, more visibility options would be the next best thing. Edited by: Ariaga |

We don't have a roadmap, but working crazy hard right now on some pretty significant changes. We have a github we use to track bug + feature requests. -- Scott Reismanis |

We should have Community Badges. Badges like "1 Year at ModDB", "Helpful Member" or stuff like that. This idea is pretty cool, and i think it should be included in v5! -- _revenant.4K

Hi everyone ! It seems this thread is still going so i think i got something to say about a find i found Umm...how to put it so i won't upset anyone but here goes : Personally am not sure the Agree/Disagree karma option is fitting with the Reviews for games or mods because IMO it shifts the opinion of people that should just be directed to the game or the mod in question , shifting it to the opinion of the reviewer and that's not the point of a review in the first place . Although this is like a very early form of ' critic for the Critic ' system , that would not be a bad idea at all though am not sure how it would work today , i am not certain it will not be abused with time , although i am yet to see a Disagree vote for a review . In conclusion i think that basically who likes a game will just praise it to how much they think is worth and who doesn't , they won't review it at all . I am not complaining about this feature , is just my personal opinion . I don't mind if it stays or it goes away but i only voted maximum everything i know and played and nothing at all those that i have no idea about/haven't played yet or are not appealing for me Best regards ! and still waiting for the new or more site features to show up |

Just like I say on Github, I would like to see a return of the old mod sorting system or even better: two types of ratings sorting which would have the old system and the second one which would have the new system. Here is an example of the old system ( Web.archive.org ) and the new one ( Web.archive.org ). The best would be if there would be an option for the both, since there is already an option to select the most visited mods of all time and the most visited today. The old system has an advantage in the amount of reviews for that mod and the new system shows the best rated mod by percentage, but mods which has only about 200 reviews can get higher than mods which have over 2000 reviews. I'm not sure if its possible, but I would love to see both systems. Also, I don't think that Agree/Disagree karma option is a bad thing, but it could use some kind of a change. However, the problem is in the number rating where only 10 is the highest one. It's just not possible to choose the exact rating for a game which is really amazing, but it has some problems anyway, so I would like to rate it 9,8 out of 10, but I can't since I can rate it only 9 or 10. Maybe if there would be a percentage option where would be 100% max it would be better than the original number ones. Edited by: Marek33 |

I think the percentage system you propose will make it harder for the admins to implement it and there is no rating I ever seen on other sites looking like 8,25 % or 6.75% for example , if this is what you mean , unless you mean a 1 % to 100 % rating and the numbers from 1 to 10 go away . Not sure how this will work I think it depends on how much or how less the game/mod in question meets the appreciation requirements that am not sure much what are these requirements these days but as I remember : Graphics are rated , content is rated , gameplay , story and re-playability , as well I think lack of bugs and such do matter too The ones I rated were not based on these at all but based on the simple fact of how much I personally liked and enjoyed that mod or game in question , that I think is more simple and direct of a way to rate a game and of course I done so to show support for these games and mods in the first place all along You certainly know more than me what better changes can be made regarding reviews Marek , you are in this job afterall The only thing I can be worried a bit about the karma for ratings is that : say you are followed by some that hate you , they will downvote all your ratings on purpose and affect the game/mod in question , or in another case say you actually like a game that is downvoted and not appreciated much , once again your ratings will get disagreed with and will keep the game's bad rating , though in this case I suppose a good vote won't matter among dozens of bad ones |

I would like to see that system, but I have no idea how hard it would be to implement. However, I'm sure it wouldn't be easy. Also, sounds and story are important, but for example in sandbox game's story isn't so important like in RPG or FPS games. But also RPG game doesn't need to be much about the story, but about exploration and FPS can be just about shooting so the story will not be so important. That's fine since those mods are very good. Especially the one for AOE3. Unfortunately, it's not my job, but I saw a lot of people who just rate some mods or games by 1 or 10 which is not much of a problem, but when some average mod (almost everything from the internet and that person doesn't get any permission) then I don't think that kind of a mod deserves more than 5. The worst thing is if it doesn't even works which is the worst thing. Yes, that could be a problem and the only solution is to make your profile only for friends and if he is a friend then just kick him out of a friend list. Edited by: Marek33 |

I also would like to seriously propose a system to be able to block persons from posting on your profile due of a problem i am having with three unmentioned here that keep posting trash talk every day on my main page profile the way they made a habit with despite my clear signs of my displeasure with this . I like to keep my main page for seldom visits by friends , debates and ideas about my project , not idle trash talk that happens every day by some users that mistake my profile for Twitter or a wall they like to spray paint on . I mean if this keeps going there goes my respect , my dignity and the point of my presence altogether that of a user like everyone else It would be great to be able to block who you don't want to comment anything at own blogs , media and main profile page with or without them being able to see the profile or media in question . As well this should be possible within own groups . The ignore system worked just fine for so long on all types of chat platforms therefore i assume it would work really fine here too Regards Anyna |

Would be cool if ModDB has a "Collection" system in where users can make folders and arrange thier Downloads/Addons with Custom names so it would be easier to browse without having the hassle of going straight to the pages. Like a better filter system but instead uploaders get to customise it themselfs. -- _revenant.4K
