I've seen that you've created some great, working Far Cry 2 mods and I am impressed by that fact. So I wanna ask you this: I've made some changes in Far Cry game in the old version where files could be easily edited and our custom mod worked great. But this packing and unpacking necessity is quite tiresome honestly. And on top of that in Far Cry 2 and maybe so on versions, it's now encoded values inserted in XML, which is not only developer-unfriendly but also customizer-unfriendly and modder-unfriendly. I also tried reading thro' "An almost complete guide..." for Far Cry 2 but it takes too long to read and grasp thro' basic modding details, which is quite frustrating and shameful for an avid modder like me. So can you list out in short, easy-to-grasp, memorable steps how to unpack entitylibrary.fcb and is it necessary to pack it back (into patch.fat or patch.dat ??) after changes are done, so that the changes will be reflected in Game and the Game won't crash ?? Note: I do have FC2DuniaTools and I know drag-n-drop file to *Pack.exe and *Unpack.exe, but that's about it of my modding knowledge. Appreciate if you don't criticise my jumping-approach and lack of time in long-learning and just help me out with what I asked... Edited by: VineetSanyal |
