First Time,I Had Installed Desura And Then Let It Updated.
After Finished Updating And Installing,I Waited For Login Box To Appear
But Nothing Appeared.
I Tried Uninstall And Reinstall A Few Times But Nothing Changed.
Can Someone Tell Me The Reasons And Solutions To Solve This Problem?
If I Should Download Something,Please Give The Download Link.

Try running from the command prompt or console to see if any errors display.

I tried and have no error.

If i try to launch bin/desura, i have theses errors, but i think it's normal:

$ bin/desura
include/SharedObjectLoader.h:75 - Error loading library libuicore.so: 'libuicore.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' [LD_LIBRARY_PATH=(null)]

I also can not start Desura. It worked at first though. Now after logging in nothing happens, other than HD crunching. also no error in console. Running from desura install dir.

Sorry but it's not the same problem.

For me updating ran, but next i can't do anything with desura (absolutely any window open, no errors in the terminal).

Same as Nek_bows, it works if I start it as root (despite the warnings)

same problem here. I'm on Fedora 15 and I get this error message:

The script called desura will call the bin/desura file after setting variables such as the library path. Check to make sure that the desura script in the main directory has anything in it and not corrupted. Did it ever work before?

Same problem here. I tried to run directly /desura/bin/desura and then:

include/SharedObjectLoader.h:75 - Error loading library libuicore.so: 'libuicore.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' [LD_LIBRARY_PATH=(null)]

Is it possible to set different LD_LIBRARY_PATH? Seems like it isn't proper. I already tried to reinstall Desura. But it didn't work :(

Edit: Nevermind. I reinstalled the system and everything is OK.

Hello,

I found this thread trying to solve the problem that I had which seems very similar. All of a sudden Desura would no longer run. I could run the update but when trying to run the program normally nothing happened.

I tried lots of things but long story short deleting the hidden desura directory from my home was the only thing that fixed the problem.

In case anyone finds this and is not sure it is the .desura directory (note the period in front) in your home folder. I suggest anyone trying to move the folder first and if it fixes the problem then delete it.

I hope it can help someone who has the same problem occur.

This thread has seemed to go unsolved... Any reason for this odd occurrence?

Ubuntu 12.04 32b

Problem: Desura was working properly. I downloaded a game, Guns Blazing, and crashed Desura. I was forced to do a hard boot. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing. So, is there a reason there is no resolution to this issue? I like the idea behind Desura, but with no support for such a wide bug; what is the point?
