Cry of Fear: Fatal Error Thread

When I click the LAUNCH button on the Cry of Fear window, it opens another window and that window immediately closes with a fatal error. The error reads:

"could not load library c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\xxx@xxx.com\half-life\cryoffear\cl_dlls\client.dll"

How do I fix this fatal error? Thanks.

How did you install the mod? Did you do it manually? Did you use Desura? Need more information.

I installed Desura and installed Cry of Fear through Desura. Then I opened Cry of Fear launcher. I checked for updates in which it installed Patch 1.1. Then I restarted Steam. When I tried to open Cry of Fear by clicking the "LAUNCH" button, it proceeded to the fatal error.

I have the same problem, and I don't have a file called irrKlang.dll. Does it mean that I have to reinstall Half life?

Wait... I found the file (irrKlang.dll), but it still comes up the same error message.
