Hi Everyone, I'm in need of a coder and mapper to help prototype a Half Life 2 mod. The mapper needs only to make a few small alterations to existing Half Life 2 maps while the coder will need to implement the idea itself using existing models/sounds etc. The mod is as follows: -- Introduction Uprising is a modification for Half Life 2. The overall concept is as follows: Two teams (combine and rebels) battle each other to destroy the others base. Heroes Each team contains human controlled hero units. These are characters from the Half Life 2 universe (such as the scientists, Alex, Gordon or the G-Man). Each of these units has special powers/weapons. Soldiers Each teams base spawns soldiers, AI controlled units that follow a set path towards the others base. Soldiers will attack any unit, player or AI controlled, that is not on their team. If they are not destroyed they will eventually make there way to the enemy base and attempt to destroy it. Bases Each Base has a control room, inflicting enough damage on this item to destroy it will win the game for the other team. Bases are defended with sentry guns, these cannot be destroyed but if they are knocked over or placed in an inaccessible place on the map they are rendered useless. About the Author -- The Alpha release of this project is to prototype the idea and get an online version of it working as quickly as possible to see if it works well as a game. It will use all existing Half Life 2 media. I have fully scoped the Alpha release of this mod, so it is well planned out, and only the very most basic structure will be in the Alpha release so we can get it up and running quickly. This mod is heavily based on the Dawn of the Ancients modification for War Craft 3, it will follow a similar theme as that game except being based in a FPS game engine and using Half Life 2 media.
