It really depends on the kind of experience you are looking for. Call of Duty is, essentially, the same game as every other Call of Duty before it. If, like my brother, the idea of Call of Duty 4--now with blood and gore!--makes your loins rumble, then definitely pick that up. Fallout 3 is an exceptional role playing game, but it has a ton of quirks, not the least of which being that the PC version is absolutely buggy as hell. But, I imagine by your inclusion of Gears of War 2 and this being in the console forum that you don't care about the computer counterpart, so, that's a solid recommendation there. And, finally, Gears of War 2 is probably the most fun I've had playing a videogame in ages. If you liked the first one, then playing the sequel--especially horde mode--should rock your socks. For my money, wandering around the impossibly huge wasteland of Fallout is great, but I'd much rather be crunching through horde mode any day. So, just go with the type of game that sounds best to you. |

i somehow ended up preordering left 4 dead, zombies galore, but ill be picking up GOW2, and borrow Fallout 3 very soon. I might skip COD waw and find a nice copy of cod 4. In conclusion i will buy GOW2, and probably buy Fallout 3. Thank you for your opinions, and critiques. on a side note, the gamestop employees stated that they would buy Farcry 2, have any of you guys played it yet? If so how is it? -- 360 is great, my live accounts are frozenrazor154 and macro razor154.I show up for a month , i disappear for two ... what is wrong with that? |

If you are getting Gears, add me to your friends list. Xbox Live name JoeX111. I need more people to horde with. And Far Cry 2 is pretty great! It and Fallout 3 are pretty equal in terms of interesting, involving worlds to explore. Just ask yourself: Which sounds better, being a post-apocalyptic survivor, or a south African mercenary? |

Get Far Cry 2 if you don't mind lots of driving along the same roads, through the same checkpoints that respawn identically every time you go through them (in some cases you only have to pop round the corner and come back and they'll all be back). The stand-out moments are very nice, and the environment is very impressive visually, but you have to tolerate a lot of dull bits in between the good bits. -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |

That's true, the respawning definitely ruined the immersion, but then, I suppose it is no worse than running into newly spawned enemies every 30-40 feet in Fallout 3. |

It's more that FC2 feels like it could have been a great ten-hour game, but they stretched it to 50. With more streamlined gameplay and/or more variety of things happening outside the main story, it could've been great. As it is, the downs overwhelm the highs. If there's a FC3, I'm going to wait and see if they've fixed things before I buy it. It won't be a day-of-release game for the next one. -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |

Hmm, personnally, has to be FO3. Reason behind this be this. WaW = COD4, with the same feel, but set in WW2. In a slightly different theatre. Didn't really impress me, didn't like it. COD 4 i found was far better. GoW 2 = Well, while yes, it's good, multiplayer quite frankly... well, its not that brilliant. Overall, its GoW1, slightly shiner, and with one or two new abilities. Good, but nowt that they haven't already done... FO3 = Only problem is this - It isn't fallout. That said, its the most fun i've had in a while. Its like the more fun, adult version of Oblivion. Only bad thing is those damn super mutants having a habit of jumping at you, from several ten's of yards away, and being rather hard to kill. Plus, the V.A.T.S. is incredibly fun... Lining up several headshots, then watching each one explode like an overipe melon is immensely satifying. Either that, or using the lazer pistol, which turns them into dust... Still, Fallout 3, is the best of all 3. Get it.... Plus, General_Atox, you do know theres 3 endings right? Evil, Neutral, Good? All depends on which aligment you end the game on. (I think) WAY too easy to be evil. Mm, bad karma. |

I have to go with Fallout 3. The guys at Epic did an awesome job on Gears of War 2 once again and i do think that the singleplayer experience i got from it was great. Horde mode is a really cool new game mode, but after i completed wave 50 only 3 days after the launch i didn't want to start over again i wanted to proceed to 60,70..100 you get the point The Multiplayer however isn't one that i will still be playing on a daily basis in 6 months like i had with CoD4, Halo 3 etc etc again you get the point. Call of Duty: World at War isn't my favorite of these 3 either. I've played the beta and without a doubt i can assure you that i will become a multiplayer hit. It just didn't get me sucked into the game. It's no secret that i have never been a fan of Treyarch ever since they fucked up Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer (And that was like 8 years ago) The fact that CoD5 just misses that extra sparkle and has the unglorious task of succeeding the MP hit of 2007 and 2008 stopt this game from being the best of these three. Fallout 3: Magnificent RPG, i had my doubts before it's release and it thought it would be slaughtered by Fable II in the reviews. It mixes that Oblivion feel with the Fallout franchise wich the fans of both are familiar with. This is deffinetly the game of 2008 for me. |

hey tbh if i were you mate fallout 3. but it depends what kind of games ure into im a bit of an RPG junkie and fallout is an amazing game, if u enjoyed oblivion u'll certainly enjoy this. The first 20 mins of fallout is a bit of a dissapointment but afta that the game becomes amazing. Gears of War 2 is good, the campaign is amazing and the graphics are stunning but it seems to be lacking something the original had, tbh COD WAW is rubbish from what ive seen it looks like the worst COD ever anyway i hope i was a help in choosing which one. cya |

Okay, okay. If you haven't played CoD: WaW then don't bash it. I've so far seen a bunch of people who say it sucks but never played it. It's actually not bad at all. Sure, it's more or less like CoD4: Modern Warfare. But it has a lot of really fun aspects to it. First off, it gives new life to the WWII genre. WWII is overused....But so is modern warfare. Everyone hopped on the bandwagon for Modern Warfare, and now we have a million of those. Having a WWII game back is pretty fun. Singleplayer is great, and I find the Russian story-line the best. Plus it has COOP storyline. All the great things about a singleplayer CoD game with friends, common. That's just awesome. Multiplayer gets old after a while, just like CoD4 did. It's mainly just running, spamming, and the likes. However maps are much larger than CoD4; so there is room to have more fun. Playing alone is a little dull after a so many hours. But if you grab a buddy, and start holding down rooms you'll have the most fun ever. It's nothing ground breaking, no. And I really wish they would of stuck with more realism in terms of weapons (as in; if you're Russian. You use Russian weapons. over the whole "upgrade to weapons' throughout the game no matter the army. However; it's still has it's place. |

Indeed i did know, however the ending for being Good was very bad, the good endings in most games (so i have seen) tend to be quite interesting, in this case it was a load of screenshots, no talking by Ron Pearlman and well, basically stuff i didn't do. It was all based around the achievements :@ Damn i hate this achievements systems, its for sad prats who can't find a reason to play a game. I play games for fun most of the time, others is when i'm simply interested in the modding aspect, when it comes to modding though, i mainly mess around with Command Variables or code to make it extra fun! Interesting work indeed. I love the social aspect to games when playing with friends too, however i'm not going to change my mind about World of Warcraft though, its still a dire game. back to topic! Fallout 2 is still the best one i think Edited by: General_Atrox |

Gears of War and Call of Duty are two very over-rated games, I bet if I acually played them I would hate it as much as I think I would. How I would know this? Halo 3, period. Here comes the rage train and his quotes. Edited by: Afnopo |
