We decided to create our own Portalgun for the mod, because its our own story, in another time. The Portalgun is a protptype for the Portalgun you had in the orginal Portal. It got the serial nubmber A-12.
We took a old Valve concept of the portalgun as reference.

hmm, I think saying that its your own universe is a mistake. It can only bring bad attention. This is due to the universe that you are basing your game off of, already existing (portal universe)
On top of that you claim at the beginning of your post that you guys are going to make your own gun, but then you use some one else work to make it? its almost ridiculous. whether you think im wrong or not, the first two posts are evidence that you need to change this post.
I hesitated on making a comment like this, but I do agree completely. The universe and gun you are talking about is IP belonging to somebody already. Granted, Valve are really good about the Mod community and probably don't care; that is, until you start claiming it as your own, I reckon.
You could at least have said that you are creating a prototype, of a prototype gun, I guess.
You've got some serious logic issues. I suggest taking a short break from 4chan.
Portal takes place in the Half-Life Universe:
- The Combine use alot of Aperture Science Technology, for example, emancipation fields (evolved into Weapon Strippers), Orbs, Sentry Turrets with Pulse Weapons, etc.
- Black Mesa, and Aperture Science were competetors
- The Gravity Gun is actually made from the Zero-Point Energy Field Manipulation Module from a damaged Aperture Science Handhled Portal Device

*Sigh* It is a shame it will never be finished. They won't even let me use it. Not even for personal use. All because it isn't and never will be finished.
