T.E.F.

" A new Era has dawned for humanity. Together we shall stride into the galaxy and it shall be ours. The fleet shall ounce again be both the shield and the sword of humanity. As the sword we will cut our way into the heart of the galaxy and defeat any that try to stop us. As the shield we will protect humanity. The Terran Expeditionary Force is considered by meny as a purely milatary this is a grossly incorrect asumption. For the most part the T.E.F both protects and governs the outer worlds of the Human Alliance. The T.E.F itself can be traced back as far as when humans first colonized another world in this case Mars, however back then it was the Mars Planatary Defence and Security Department. Despite its lowly start the T.E.F has done nothing but climb until it has become the major power in the galaxy, with more firepower and ship then any other race its only weakness may in fact be its size as the Human alliance itself spans almost half the galaxy, this combined with the humilating defeat to the newly formed U.C.I and the emergance of several powerful new enemies caused the T.E.F's expansion to grind to a halt. For almost 30 years this has been the case however the recently elected High Admiral Fawks has begun to forge onwards and has even managed to sercure several new sectors for human colonization. It would seem the Sleeping giant is waking.

U.C.I

The United Coloney Initative is more akin to ancient Greece then anything else. Each world within the U.C.I is either completly self suffcient or a vassel of another more powerful world. The U.C.I is only a relativly recent power having been around for little more then 30 years in its true form, its origins trace back to the outer coloney reblions and their alliegience to each other is cemented by the actions of the mad Admiral Collet whos campaign left many of its current citizens with a deep hatred for the T.E.F. Of any of the powers in the galaxy the U.C.I is technically the weakest holding only a small portion of space nad due to its previous status of fringe worlds has a population numbering at around 38 billion. This may make it seem as though the U.C.I is doomed to eventually be consumed but this is not the case the U.C.I as it happens is in an extremly reasource rich area of space allowing it to have an enourmous capita per person and despite lacking the proper infastructure to utilize it fully they are still able to utilize enough to give them the edge they need when using last generation tech crewed by only a very limited number of people.

Nomads

The enigmatic alien race known as the Nomads is the first alien race humanity ever encountered. Since that first encounter humans have fought the Nomads in a series of bitter struggles, which can range from a single Ark attacking a single system, to fleets of arks and support vessles descending upon an entire region. The later occurance is thankfully rare and has only taken place roughly 3 times, one of these was the first encounter humans had with this race. The First War as it would later be known occured around 2458 (current date is 2634), the battle took place in the Horton Cluster, the war itself lasted roughly two years during which time almost 600000 T.E.F Soldiers lost their lives in the skys above countless worlds. These massive loses can be atributed almost entirly to the fact that this war occured before the T.E.F had begun to use shields. Little is known about the Nomads biology as they never venture from their ships. This has lead some to believe that the ships are infact simply automated drones fullfilling some preordained task or perhaps simply empty husks in which live once flourished until it suddenly stopped leaving nothing but memories.
