Hey everyone! If you're interested to know more about the monsters in Quest for Glory IV 3D Hexen but don't have time to download and try my demo or watch my videos then this is the post for you!

This is a full breakdown of all the monsters currently available in my latest demo. I've also done a similar post for my Star Trek Doom Project.

(Note: The first image is the animating sprite used in my QFG4-3D mod and the second image is a reference shot from the original 2D game)

Monsters & Enemies

Badder
Monster01 Monster02

These odd creatures resemble a cross between a bat and a spider. They often fly in groups requiring you to attack them one at a time as they swoop down on you. They are very fast and very difficult to hit.

Vorpal Bunny
Monster03 Monster04

Don't be the next person to say "Naww isn't that a cute little bunny.. AAAUUUUUGGGGGH" *thump*. Twisted by dark magic these cute little bunnies have the taste for blood, YOUR blood! Make sure you can duck or look down and swing down like a pro before facing them.

Necrotaur
Monster05 Monster06

These deadly undead dog like beasts hit very hard and charge really fast. They can easily run down and slash to death a slow hero so stay mobile and hit them with everything you have to stop them from getting too close to you.

Revenant
Monster07 Monster08

These rotting zombies crawl out of the ground where they originally fell to their unwanted death long ago. They are slow to move but can take large amounts of damage. Be careful that you do not get overwhelmed by other monsters while trying to bring one of these things down.

Chernovy Wizard
Monster09 Monster10

These followers of the Dark One Cult have shed their original human bodies. Their magic is quite formidable, and half the trouble is just getting close enough to hit them. It is tough to avoid their shots, and they can strike at close range too. They are best destroyed from a distance or charged at very quickly while taking cover behind nearby trees.

Wyvern
Monster11 Monster12

These flying dragon like creatures are a hero's most dangerous foe in the day time. At a distance they can shoot deadly fireballs and at close range breathe a constant firewave down upon you. They are best killed at range however if that is not an option then charge them fast, swing up and swing hard!

Wraith
Monster13 Screenshot22

Few survive an encounter with a Wraith as they are one of the deadliest monsters in Mordavia. They only appear at night and can literally suck the life out of you freezing you where you stand. Avoid close range at all costs but if you have no choice then use your strongest weapon and bring it down as fast as you can or you will surely die horribly.

Necrotaur Guards (Special bonus monster)

Monster05 Monster06

A deadly formerly wild necrotaur that has been enhanced and trained to kill by a dark master. They are stronger than regular necrotaurs and will often hunt in packs that will try to surround and overwhelm any intruders foolish enough to trespass in their masters lands.

Goon Guards (Special bonus monster)
Monster15 Monster16

Ginormous ridiculously strong semi-domesticated Ogres that guard places of importance for those powerful enough to employ them.

Note: It always annoyed me that after slaying giant guard/henchman beasts in previous QFG games that even a maxed out fighter/paladin would trigger an instant death cutscene if they went near the Goons guarding a completely worthless area in QFG4. So as a fun gift to QFG4 fans I've put them in my game & given them something more useful to do. ;)

Master Wraith (not currently in demo)

Monster13 Screenshot22

The most powerful wraith in Mordavia. Should you encounter it then may you rest in peace!

Pit Monster (direct encounter not currently in demo)
Monster17 Monster18

To escape the dark one cave you will need to slash away this creature's ginormous tentacles blocking your path. Perhaps one day you will have to return to the dark one cave and take this hideous creature on directly!
