Two months passed since 009 FINAL was released.
We hope you are enjoying it as much as we do. We are so happy seeing so many online players, playing every day. Thanks to you, our community grows bigger and there are really good players joining from everywhere.
Now with Official Patch1 released, which fixed many reported bugs, we decided to make things a bit more interesting. We want to gather players in one special event, which is 2v2 tournament!
Yes, official 2v2 tournament, where anyone is free to join with his friend, or maybe with a random teammate (if you are so poor that you dont even have frens).
- Why 2v2?
We think that 2v2 tournament (instead of classic 1v1) will give opportunity to other less skilled players to actually get better score than they would as individuals.
2v2 provides more game diversity, as you need to show your skills while defending your ally, attacking together but also facing 2 different generals as your enemy.
2v2 games can last even longer, and show more Contra potential, and they are less stressful, especially if you are new.
- how to form a team?
We in Discord "developer" channel (which has developers and active testers), decided to form random teams, mixed from more and less skilled players.
We tried to make balanced teams which can be beaten by players who are not so familiar with Contra.
We want to be as fair as possible, and have good, balanced tournament games where everyone has a decent chance.
So by random selection, we formed teams:
Now, we need more teams applied by other players, so we can make final bracket and start tournament.
You, of course, can form a team with anyone you want!

Applications should be done till 10.03.2019 (but most likely we will extend the deadline so we get more players), so we can form a bracket and start with first games!
