We here at Panda maddness are trying to create a new engine that will have new ability unlike any other engine.
We Currently Have:

  • Basic coding for a engine
  • Ideas
  • we are starting with java to make a basic engine for 2d games to see how it should work.
  • then we will use c++ to complete the engine. after the engine is done we will use it for all our games for PC, mac and hopefully 360
  • panda madness & plasma city is mainly a PC and mac based company so it will be mainly made for mac and PC
  • to make it 3d when we get to the third stage,
  • we would like some help if anyone is interested in helping message me.

No polygons? You mean like that voxel engine or whatever it is? Right now there aren't really any good algorithms for animation, iirc, so might be prettttty difficult.
Anyway, no polys doesn't mean no more limits. When you use the point cloud system, you have to take into consideration that your file size is going to be HUGE. The one from that viral video could have easily taken up several hundred or even thousand gigabytes of memory.

When we say this we mean no more polygons involved, and it will be unlimited items in the engine.

I'm still a tad confused as how you plan to eliminate polygons - the only solution I can think up is a point cloud system. What are you planning exactly? I'm intrigued.
